Position Summary
Atkinson Aeronautics & Technology is seeking an experienced Army Field Service Representative (FSR) to support an Electronic Warfare (EW) pod Research and Development (R&D) program supporting activities in CONUS and OCONUS. Ideal candidate is located in West Coast.
The FSR will serve as an Electronic Warfare (EW) and Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) subject matter expert supporting the development, integration, testing, fielding, training, and operational employment of an advanced EW pod capability.
This position will work closely with U.S. Army operational personnel, Government program representatives, engineers, developers, test organizations, and other stakeholders to provide operational feedback and ensure the capability meets Army mission requirements.
A primary responsibility of the position will be providing hands-on technical and operational training on the EW pod to Army personnel at CONUS and OCONUS locations. The FSR will also support R&D, system demonstrations, operational assessments, exercises, testing, troubleshooting, and field-support activities.
The position is primarily remote when not traveling and requires extensive travel throughout the United States and overseas (ARCENT AOR)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as an EW/EMSO Field Service Representative and Subject Matter Expert supporting an advanced Army EW pod R&D program.
- Provide operational and technical expertise regarding Electronic Warfare (EW), Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), and electromagnetic spectrum-dependent operations.
- Support the development, integration, testing, evaluation, fielding, and operational employment of the EW pod.
- Provide hands-on operator and technical training on the EW pod to U.S. Army personnel at CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Develop, update, and deliver training materials, operator instruction, technical presentations, demonstrations, and other training products.
- Support system demonstrations, test events, operational assessments, Army exercises, fielding activities, and other program events.
- Provide feedback to engineers and developers based on operational experience, Army user requirements, system performance, and lessons learned from field activities.
- Serve as a liaison between Army operators, Government program personnel, engineers, developers, test personnel, and other program stakeholders.
- Assist users with system setup, operation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and employment of the EW pod.
- Support troubleshooting of hardware, software, integration, communications, and operational issues associated with the system.
- Evaluate system performance during testing, exercises, demonstrations, and operational use and document observations and recommendations.
- Assist with the development and refinement of tactics, techniques, procedures, training concepts, and operational employment recommendations associated with the EW capability.
- Collect and communicate operator feedback, technical discrepancies, system performance information, and lessons learned to Government and engineering teams.
- Support system upgrades, modifications, configuration changes, software updates, and technical refresh activities.
- Provide field-level technical assistance to Army units operating or evaluating the system.
- Develop and maintain field reports, trip reports, training documentation, technical documentation, status reports, and other program deliverables.
- Maintain professional relationships with Army customers, Government representatives, operational units, engineering teams, and other program stakeholders.
- Perform additional EW, EMSO, R&D, training, and field-support duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Electronic Warfare (EW) and/or Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) experience within a U.S. military or DoD environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles, EMSO, electromagnetic spectrum operations, and operational employment of EW capabilities.
- Experience operating, supporting, maintaining, integrating, testing, or training personnel on EW systems, electronic attack/electronic support capabilities, sensors, pods, or other spectrum-dependent military systems.
- Experience providing technical or operational training to military personnel.
- Ability to translate complex EW and technical concepts into effective operator-level instruction.
- Experience supporting military exercises, test events, demonstrations, fielding events, or operational missions.
- Ability to work directly with military operators, Government personnel, engineers, developers, and program leadership.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently in field environments and at geographically dispersed locations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Ability and willingness to perform extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain required Government, installation, network, and system access credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior U.S. Army experience in Electronic Warfare, EMSO, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), aviation EW, spectrum management, or a related operational specialty.
- Previous experience as a Field Service Representative (FSR), EW Instructor, EW Subject Matter Expert, or Technical Representative.
- Experience supporting airborne or podded Electronic Warfare systems.
- Experience with EW system Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E).
- Experience supporting developmental testing, operational testing, system integration, or capability demonstrations.
- Experience supporting Army EW organizations, operational units, acquisition programs, or test organizations.
- Experience developing or refining Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for EW or EMSO capabilities.
- Experience conducting New Equipment Training (NET), operator training, or train-the-trainer instruction.
- Experience providing technical or operational support in deployed or austere OCONUS environments.
- Active Secret clearance or higher.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance, if required by the program.
Work Location
Remote – Supporting US Army - FSR Westcoast
The employee will primarily work remotely when not supporting testing, training, integration, exercises, demonstrations, or field activities. Travel to Point Mugu, Army installations, test ranges, training locations, operational sites, and other Government facilities will be required based on mission requirements in CONUS. Extensive travel to OCONUS - ARCENT AOR
