What does a Recruiter do?

As a NOLS Recruiter, you will be the face of NOLS in communities across the country; traveling to schools, colleges, conferences, and outdoor events to connect students to the transformative power of wilderness education. You'll build excitement, cultivate relationships, and generate new leads that inspire future enrollment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on the road, enjoys connecting with people, and believes deeply in the value of experiential learning. You'll represent NOLS with authenticity and enthusiasm, helping students see how a NOLS expedition can build their leadership, confidence, and purpose.

In your first 6 months, you will:

  • Onboard and align with the Admissions and Marketing teams to master NOLS' mission, expedition offerings, financial aid opportunities, and core messaging.
  • Learn and utilize Google Workspace and the CRM system (HubSpot) to capture, record, and evaluate prospective student leads.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Enrollment to review priority regions, plan annual travel logistics, budgets, and set KPI targets.
  • Embark on seasonal recruitment travel (estimated 60-70% travel during peak seasons) to represent NOLS at college fairs, high school visits, gap-year expos, and partner events.
