General Description:

The Executive Director, Global Tax Reporting and Compliance is a senior leadership role within the Global Tax organization responsible for overseeing worldwide tax reporting, tax accounting, compliance governance, tax technology modernization, and tax operating model transformation. Reporting to the head of Global Tax, this role serves as a strategic advisor to Finance and Tax leadership, ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting, effective compliance oversight, strong internal controls, and scalable processes supporting the company's global growth objectives.

The Executive Director partners closely with Treasury, Legal, Controllers, business units, external auditors, and advisors to manage complex tax accounting matters, tax disclosures, regulatory developments, and global transformation initiatives. The role is also responsible for driving continuous improvement, automation, AI adoption, and operating model optimization across the global tax function.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Global Tax Reporting & Tax Accounting

  • Lead the worldwide tax reporting process, including quarterly and annual income tax provision reporting under U.S. GAAP and local statutory financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee ASC 740 tax accounting, including effective tax rate forecasting, rate reconciliations, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, deferred tax accounting, purchase accounting impacts, and tax law changes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax disclosures in external financial statements and regulatory filings.
  • Provide executive-level analysis and recommendations regarding complex tax accounting matters, transactions, restructurings, acquisitions, disposals, integrations, and business transformations.
  • Serve as the primary tax accounting advisor to senior Finance leadership, external auditors, and other stakeholders.

Global Tax Compliance Governance

  • Establish and maintain a robust global compliance governance framework across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee global tax compliance processes, ensuring effective coordination among internal teams, outsourced providers, and external advisors.
  • Monitor emerging tax regulations and assess their impact on global compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Drive standardization, transparency, and accountability across global tax compliance activities.

Tax Transformation & Technology

  • Lead the Global Tax process simplification, automation, digital enablement, data strategy, and scalable operating models.
  • Champion the adoption of AI-enabled solutions, automation technologies, and modern collaboration platforms to improve productivity, control, and decision quality.
  • Partner with Digital and Finance teams to optimize tax technology platforms supporting provision, compliance, planning, reporting, and data management.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and reduce manual effort through technology, standardization, and process redesign.

Global Tax Operating Model Leadership

  • Evaluate and optimize tax operating models, including outsourcing strategies, shared service arrangements, and advisor utilization.
  • Develop scalable organizational structures and governance frameworks to support business growth and increasing regulatory complexity.
  • Drive initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, enhance talent development, and create capacity for higher-value strategic work.
  • Lead cross-functional projects involving Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury, and Digital organizations.

Governance, Controls & Risk Management

  • Ensure strong tax governance, internal controls, and SOX compliance across tax processes.
  • Support audit readiness activities and manage relationships with internal and external auditors.
  • Provide oversight of documentation standards, technical memoranda, accounting positions, and tax risks.
  • Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor performance, risks, and compliance obligations.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global tax team.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, service providers, and audit firms.
  • Influence senior executives across Finance and business functions through data-driven recommendations and strategic insights.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, innovation, and collaboration.

Qualifications

Required

  • 14+ years of tax experience, including significant multinational corporate tax leadership experience.
  • Deep expertise in ASC 740, income tax accounting, tax reporting, and global compliance governance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global tax reporting processes for a large multinational organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements, SOX controls, and external audit processes.
  • Experience managing large-scale tax transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with senior business and finance leaders.

Preferred

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors.
  • Experience implementing tax technology platforms and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing global outsourced tax compliance models.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related discipline. MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
  • CPA required.

Salary Range: $283,800.00 - $363,800.00 annually

BeOne is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
