Common App is currently searching for a Enterprise Risk & Compliance Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Legal team and reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the Enterprise Risk & Compliance Manager provides broad support to the organization's enterprise compliance program and works closely with members of the Legal team and other organizational leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring sustainable program execution, consistency, and alignment with organizational priorities across expanding risk, compliance, and integrity obligations. The Enterprise Risk & Compliance Manager provides operational and administrative support across the organization’s enterprise compliance and risk programs. This role oversees policy management, regulatory deadline tracking, and case preparation for fraud and whistleblower programs while serving as a key liaison for internal legal and compliance inquiries. The Enterprise Risk & Compliance Manager interacts with various departments, leadership, and external advisors to strengthen governance and reduce risk.

QUALIFICATIONS

This role requires:

• Candidates must live in the United States.
• Willing to travel to attend twice annual Common App Retreat.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Risk Management, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4-6 years of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, or legal operations.
• Strong foundational knowledge of conducting investigations, compliance, and administrative procedures. 
• Solid business and legal acumen with sound judgment and the ability to deliver on tight deadlines.
• Strong administrative experience including request intake, email review and management, data entry, task tracking and management across the team. 
• Strong ability to take initiative, prioritize and manage competing tasks effectively, and maintain an assigned portfolio of work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. 
• Superior written and verbal communication. Proficient in summarizing complicated issues in a clear, professional, and succinct manner for various internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with case management, due diligence, and communication.
• Ability to prepare and develop reports, presentations, and briefings for leadership.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Proven ability to think independently, identify deficiencies, and contribute solutions to various challenges. 
• High degree of discretion, judgment, and commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data, and strong stewardship of confidential and/or sensitive information.
• Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex financial data and concepts in a concise manner (written & oral, including presentations) to a variety of audiences (internal customers, third parties, peers, and upper management), as well as excellent listening and comprehension skills.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Compliance and/ Risk Management Certification: Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP).
• Experience supporting Legal in Not for Profit, Technology, and Higher Education. 
• Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Demonstrable sensitivity to the needs of a corporate compliance function and ability to balance administrative and substantive work.
• A strong work ethic and willingness to work with others across the organization to advance the mission.
• Effective in a variety of presentation settings (one-on-one, small and large groups).
• A passion for higher education is a plus. 

PAY RANGE

• $92,240 - $103,770
