Embedded security researcher

Bugsec is a leading cyber consultancy and red-team services firm, located in Rishon LeZion .

As an Embedded Security Researcher, you will be responsible for analyzing and assessing the security of embedded systems and IoT devices. Your role will involve identifying vulnerabilities through reverse-engineering and developing techniques to improve system security. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and security experts to conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and firmware analysis. Your hands-on experience and expertise will help in securing devices and systems that are critical in today’s interconnected world. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, hardware security, and reverse engineering.

Requirements: 

• B.Sc. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or graduate of intelligence corps courses (Talpiot, ARAM, Acham, Silan) – Advantage 

• Hands-on experience with firmware dumping (via JTAG or physical flash extraction) 

• Proficiency with serial protocols (JTAG, UART, SPI, I2C) 

• Practical knowledge of reverse-engineering tools such as IDA Pro and Ghidra 

• Debugging experience using GDB or similar debuggers 

• Soldering skills for hardware modifications and probes attachment 

• Reverse-Engineering & Static/Dynamic analysis on different architectures (ARM/MIPS/X86/X64 etc.) 

• Experience using logic analyzers for embedded system troubleshooting

• Reversing of Embedded/IoT systems for vulnerability research and security assessment 

• At least 4 years of professional reversing experience – Strongly preferred
