BlancVPN is looking for a Editor-in-Chief | Senior who will own everything we write and say — from a website headline to a support reply, in both Russian and English. The goal is to build one clear brand voice across every channel and the system that keeps that voice consistent without manual review of every small piece of copy.
You won't just edit — you'll set the editorial strategy, tie it to how the brand and the business grow, and build the standards the whole company writes by.
- Fluent Russian and English (B2+)
- 6+ years in editorial or content roles, including 2+ years as an editor-in-chief or lead editor in a digital product
- Proven cases where you built a working editorial system — a team, editorial policy, or process that ran well without your constant involvement
- A systems approach: processes, guides, and standards instead of micromanagement
- Strong editing: you can spot weak copy, explain why it's weak, and show how to fix it
- Fluency across formats: landing page, article, post, email, in-app copy, and support reply
- Ownership of brand voice: you set the Tone of Voice and hold the bar across every channel
- People leadership: you've hired, onboarded, and grown writers, and can raise a team's overall level
- Strategic thinking: you connect editorial decisions to brand and business goals, not just style
- Comfort with content metrics: you steer editorial with performance data (engagement, SEO, conversion), not vibes alone
- Experience with VPN, technology, or subscription products
- SEO and content-distribution experience
- Experience managing freelancers, translators, or agencies
- Experience building or evolving a brand's Tone of Voice from scratch
- Experience running consistent bilingual (RU/EN) content at scale
- Own the editorial strategy for all BlancVPN communications — website, blog, Telegram, emails, in-app copy, ads, and support texts — and tie it to brand and growth goals
- Bring every channel into one consistent style: develop the Tone of Voice and make sure it's followed in practice
- Build an editorial system so quality does not depend on you personally checking every line
- Set the editorial standards, guidelines, and playbooks the rest of the company writes by
- Build, lead, and mentor the editorial team: set tasks, give feedback, and raise the level of writers and copywriters
- Manage the blog and social content plan: useful materials people want to share, tied to measurable goals — not content for the sake of content
- Sync copy with marketing, product, and support so the brand voice is consistent at every touchpoint
- Understand the technical nuances of the VPN service well enough to own content about it
- Track content performance and iterate — turn what works into repeatable editorial standards
