Location and Work Expectations

  • This is a remote position; however, team members should be willing and able to travel if the need arises. Candidates located near one of the following local markets are preferred: Louisiana, Kansas, Texas, Florida
  • Travel: Minimal (~5 days/year)

How you'll make an Impact 

The Director of People Operations leads the operational core of Ntiva's People functions for Total Rewards, leave and accommodations, performance management, corrective action and terminations, employee-relations investigations, and day-to-day people-services delivery. This is a working, player-coach leadership role: the Director manages an experienced team and is also expected to be the internal subject-matter authority who provides direction, escalation support, and hands-on backup across each area.

 Team Leadership

  • Directly manages and develops the People Operations team, providing subject-matter guidance and coverage across all functional areas, except Talent Acquisition
  • Direct peer and collaborator with our Director of Talent Acquisition 
  • Serves as the direct manager to the Manager, People Operations as a strategic and escalation partner on complex benefits matters and leave management
  • Serves as direct manager to the People Services Specialist, providing guidance on day to day employee relations, performance matters, and employee transitions

What you will be doing 

Total Rewards (with the Manager of People Operations and outside vendors)

  • Oversee health & welfare, wellness, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs, and recognition/awards
  • Lead annual open enrollment; own broker/vendor relationships
  • Maintain benefits compliance (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Form 5500, state mandates)
  • Assists on 401k and other internal audits in collaboration with the payroll department and finance

Leave, Accommodations & Workers' Comp

  • Administer multi-state leave and accommodation programs, including FMLA, ADA, state/local leave, parental, STD/LTD
  • Run the interactive/accommodation process with defensible documentation
  • Coordinate workers' comp claims and OSHA recordkeeping/reporting

Performance Management

  • Oversee the performance cycle, goal-setting, and calibration/talent-review process
  • Manage succession planning cycle collaborating with the Chief People Officer and other senior leadership
  • Coach and equip managers on performance conversations and development planning

Employee Relations & Investigations

  • Own intake and workplace investigations for the People Operations group, with defensible documentation and consistent outcomes
  • Serve as escalation point for complex matters

Offboarding, Terminations & Corrective Action

  • Manage the performance management lifecycle: verbal warnings, written warnings, PIPs
  • Partner with Legal on involuntary terminations, risk assessment, and separation documentation
  • Oversee offboarding, exit interviews, and unemployment claims; coordinate timely access deprovisioning with IT/Security,  ensure state-specific final-pay compliance along side payroll team

People Services Operations

  • Own HRIS data integrity, lifecycle transactions, policy/handbook administration, and people reporting
  • Support HR due diligence and post-close people integration for acquisitions (benefits harmonization, census, leave/PTO alignment)

    You'll be successful in this role if you bring

    • 7–10+ years in HR/People Operations, including team leadership
    • Required depth across benefits/total rewards, multi-state leave & ADA/FMLA, performance management, and employee relations/investigations, expertise in each, not just familiarity
    • Strong multi-state employment-law knowledge; GovCon/federal-contractor HR compliance a plus
    • HRIS proficiency required; UKG Pro experience preferred but not required (must ramp quickly on the platform)
    • Demonstrated AI knowledge and use
    • SHRM-SCP / SPHR strongly preferred
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    The base pay range for this position is expected to be between $110,000 and $145,000 per year, plus a performance-based commission plan, plus and annual on-target bonus. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and PTO. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

    FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt

    Workspace Requirements and Remote Work Policy

    Team members must establish a dedicated safe workspace that is free from distractions, hazards, and that is secure from unauthorized access. This includes following Ntiva’s IT User and Security Policies that include but are not limited to password-protecting all equipment, keeping confidential and proprietary documents secure, refraining from using public Wi-Fi, and having adequate arrangements in place to avoid significant interruptions from caregiving responsibilities during work hours (except in emergency situations with manager approval). Any remote work away from a team member’s normal expected dedicated safe workspace must be requested by the team member, is subject to review by management, and must adhere to Ntiva policies and procedures.
