The Director of Digital Content leads the strategy, creation, and management of the organization's digital presence across web and social properties. This role oversees a content team and collaborates with various departments to advance organizational goals and deepen audience engagement.

To grow our and sustain our digital footprint, we are seeking a Director of Digital Content to lead the strategy, creation, and management of the organization's digital presence across the National Wildlife Federation’s major organic web and social properties, including NWF.org, associated microsites, the NWF Blog, and the Federation’s flagship social media accounts. This senior role is responsible for developing a coherent content vision that advances organizational goals, deepens audience engagement, and strengthens the brand. This position oversees a team of content creators and collaborates closely with teams across fundraising, advocacy, communications, and technology.
The Director works closely with the Director of Digital Growth and Transformation, Director of Digital Fundraising and Engagement, and also coordinates closely with our Membership Program (offline fundraising) to ensure a cohesive donor experience and a full-funnel approach to supporter development. The position reports to the Associate Vice President for Digital Engagement who sets and oversees the organization’s digital strategy for fundraising, advocacy, marketing, and communications.

Occasional overnight travel for teamwide functions, professional development, or vendor relations or sales shows.
LOCATION AND WORK MODE
This position is intended to be remote and based out of our headquarters in Reston, VA. The National Wildlife Federation is committed to a flexible and empowered work environment with an authentic community of care for all staff. In this position, the employee may work in the office, in a hybrid manner, or fully remote, to be decided jointly with their supervisor in the final stages of the interview process. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example, using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about the workspace. The position requires mobility, including moving materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience.
