AI Summary

You will be responsible for building and managing relationships with state and regional athletic associations to secure platform agreements. Additionally, you will lead competitive RFP processes and drive school growth by converting inbound interest into new subscriptions.

Company overview

Home Campus is the operating system for high school athletic departments. Athletic directors, coaches, parents and students use our platform for eligibility verification, athletic clearance, coaches credentialing, injury tracking, athletic websites, donations and college recruiting.

We work at two levels. State and regional athletic associations use our association platform to manage compliance, transfers, power ratings and playoff divisioning. Individual schools subscribe to run their own athletic departments. We serve around 1,600 schools today, concentrated in California and Florida. In Florida the FHSAA has made us the standard across its member schools, and in California all ten CIF sections recommend us.

Role Overview

There are roughly 27,000 high schools in the United States and we reach about 6% of them, in two states. Every state runs its own athletic association with its own rules and its own procurement, so growth is won relationship by relationship. Reporting to the CEO, you would own how we enter new states: building the relationships with association leadership, leading competitive RFPs, and then converting the schools those agreements open up. It is a builder's seat with the autonomy to own the playbook.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Association development. Build relationships with state and regional athletic association leadership outside California and Florida, and turn them into signed platform agreements.

  • Market intelligence. Own our view of when association software contracts come up for bid, so we engage early rather than late.

  • Conferences. Represent Home Campus at state and national athletic administration events, running demos and building the relationships that precede any association conversation.

  • RFPs. Lead competitive responses end to end and build the toolkit we reuse.

  • School growth. Work inbound interest from schools that have already raised their hand, and close new subscriptions in states where we hold the association relationship.

  • Clean handoffs. Keep the pipeline accurate in the CRM and hand closed-won schools to onboarding so nobody feels dropped after signing.

Qualifications

  • You know this world. Direct experience in high school athletics administration or the associations that govern it, or a track record selling into them. Your network is central to the job.

  • You build relationships rather than close transactions. Association decisions are made over six to eighteen months by committees, boards and executive directors.

  • You are comfortable with long consultative cycles, including quarters where the pipeline advances and nothing closes.

  • You can run a competitive RFP from first requirement to final submission.

  • Strong communication. Credible with an athletic director and with an executive director or board, and clear in writing.

  • You want to build a function from the ground up and are comfortable defining the process, the materials and the cadence yourself.

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships with state athletic association leadership outside California and Florida.

  • Experience selling compliance, eligibility or student data software to education or public sector buyers.

  • Background as an early or founding commercial hire.

  • Comfort working in a CRM as the system of record.

What you will get

  • A profitable, deeply embedded business with a genuine market position in two of the three largest states.

  • The first commercial seat in the company's history, and the room to define it.

  • Remote within the United States, with meaningful seasonal travel around the conference calendar.

  • Exposure to multiple businesses within the Beacon portfolio.
