Join a pediatric dental surgery practice in Florida dedicated to providing high-quality care for children. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Virtual Assistant to support our administrative operations and help deliver an excellent patient experience.
Responsibilities
Top Priorities
- Serve as the virtual front desk by managing inbound and outbound patient calls and patient communications.
- Process dental and medical insurance pre-authorizations.
- Upload and organize faxes and patient documents.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage and update patient records in Oryx.
- Verify dental and medical insurance eligibility including same-day eligibility checks
- Prepare and send referral acknowledgment letters and emails.
- Perform billing-related tasks.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Submit daily end-of-day activity reports.
- Provide general administrative support as needed
Requirements
Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a dental or healthcare administrative role. Dental practice experience is highly preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience with dental and medical insurance pre-authorizations and insurance eligibility verification.
- Experience using EMR/EHR systems. Experience with Oryx is a plus.
- Clinical or healthcare experience (e.g., Nursing, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing, or similar) is an advantage.
- HIPAA training or certification is a plus.
Skills & Qualifications
- Spanish-English bilingual skills are highly preferred.
- Excellent customer service and patient communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with Google Workspace (Google Drive and Google Meet).
Basic Requirements
- Must speak and write English clearly and professionally.
- Must have relevant work experience.
- Must be able to provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding (mandatory).
- Must be available to attend video meetings with camera on when required.
Technical Requirements
- Computer: Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
- Internet: Stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps).
- Audio: Noise-canceling headset.
- Video: Working webcam for virtual meetings.
