The Sr. Demand Planner Manager - Patient Care & Advanced Surgical (AS) serves as a key leader within CONMED’s Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework, responsible for developing, optimizing, and leading demand planning processes across assigned markets or product portfolios and leading IBP Reconciliation process and forums. This role ensures an accurate, unbiased demand signal that supports growth, service, and profitability. The manager partners closely with Commercial, Finance, Supply Planning, and Regional Leadership teams to drive forecast accuracy, improve planning maturity, and enable strategic business decision making.

Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for global demand Planning & Forecast Ownership- directly responsible for US demand planning
- Lead and manage the monthly regional demand planning cycle, including data preparation, statistical forecasting, and cross‑functional reviews.
- Own the 24‑month forecast horizon for assigned regions, business units, or product families.
- Integrate market insights such as seasonality, regulatory changes, customer behaviors, and competitive dynamics into the demand plan.
- Analyze forecast accuracy, bias, and variability; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain demand plans at SKU, customer, channel, and region, levels aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Provide key inputs to inventory management and optimization strategies, supporting allocation and deployment decisions when needed.
S&OP / IBP Integration
- Lead Business Unit IBP meetings and facilitate reconciliation.
- Present demand risks, opportunities, and drivers to Supply, Finance, and Executive stakeholders.
- Ensure demand plans reflect revenue targets, inventory strategies, and capacity constraints.
- Support scenario planning, demand shaping activities, and long‑range outlook creation.
- Act as back-up for Sr. Director- Supply Chain when required.
Market & Business Insights
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert for global, regional or portfolio‑specific demand drivers, including economic trends, product lifecycle shifts, and promotional cycles.
- Develop strong relationships with regional commercial teams to identify early demand signals.
- Monitor regional KPI performance, customer patterns, and macroeconomic indicators to refine demand assumptions.
Data, Analytics & Systems
- Utilize CONMED’s demand planning systems (e.g., Smoothie, SAP APO, Power BI, Tableau) to develop, validate, and continuously improve forecasting models.
- Drive improved data quality and visibility by leveraging advanced statistical tools and analytics platforms.
Leadership & Cross‑functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a team of demand planners or analysts, ensuring strong analytical and stakeholder collaboration capabilities.
- Partner with Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Executive teams to align demand strategy with company goals.
- Work closely with:
- Commercial teams to validate assumptions and understand customer intelligence.
- Supply Planning to balance demand and supply perspectives.
- Finance to align demand signals with revenue and financial projections.
- Marketing / Product to incorporate campaigns and lifecycle events.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, IBP/S&OP or supply chain management; experience in a global or complex environment preferred.\
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Analytics.
- Experience in medical device, healthcare technology, or regulated manufacturing industries.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in statistical modeling and forecasting tools.
- Proficiency with planning concepts and visualization systems (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle, Tableau, Power BI).
- Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
