About the role

The Demand Generation Marketing Manager owns how KickUp generates awareness and converts pipeline for new business. This role builds and runs the campaigns, automation, and measurement that identify the right school districts, earn their attention, and move them toward meaningful conversations with sales.

KickUp has the product, the customer results, and the reach to win. What this role adds is the systematic demand engine — multi-touch campaigns, lifecycle automation, and reporting that consistently generates qualified pipeline and shows marketing's impact on the business.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role. You'll own the strategy and execute the campaigns, working closely with Sales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success to turn positioning into pipeline.

What Success Looks Like:

  • A predictable pipeline engine. Marketing reliably generates qualified leads and opportunities, and everyone can see where they came from.
  • Campaigns that convert. Integrated programs move district leaders from first touch to sales conversation — not just clicks and opens.
  • A clear line from spend to revenue. Every channel is measured, and marketing can prove its contribution to pipeline.
  • Systems that scale. Nurture flows, lead scoring, and reporting that grow with the business instead of breaking under it.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Strategy & Campaigns

  • Own the demand generation strategy across the funnel for new business, from awareness through marketing-qualified opportunity.
  • Design and run integrated, multi-touch campaigns that target the right school districts with the right message at the right time.
  • Build demand programs for new customer acquisition and collaborate for expansion into our existing customer base, in partnership with Product Marketing and Event Marketing.
  • Own the demand calendar, aligning campaigns to launches, conferences, and seasonal buying cycles in K-12 education.

Digital & Pipeline Programs

  • Build account-based programs that reach high-value districts and re-engage prospects who haven't converted.
  • Turn webinars and conferences into a systematic pipeline motion with pre-event nurture, live conversion, and structured follow-up.
  • Build and optimize landing pages and campaign assets, owning both the strategy and the execution of conversion paths.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as a key partner to Sales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success, translating strategy into campaigns that generate pipeline.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the sales team to align on targets, territories, and what a quality lead looks like.
  • Create polished campaign materials, from one-pagers to email templates to event collateral, grounded in our product positioning and designed to drive a single clear action.

Marketing Automation & Lead Management

  • Own our marketing automation platform and the systems that move a prospect from first touch to sales-ready.
  • Build and optimize nurture sequences, lead scoring, and routing so the right leads reach sales at the right moment.
  • Refine lead stages, qualification criteria, and the service level agreement between marketing and sales.
  • Partner with sales to ensure clean handoffs, accurate tracking, and a shared definition of a qualified lead.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Build the reporting that answers the central question every week: what did marketing generate, and where did it come from.
  • Own marketing's pipeline and attribution metrics, and report contribution clearly to marketing and sales leadership.
  • Use data to prioritize investment and continuously improve campaign performance.
  • Maintain the dashboards that make demand performance visible across the organization.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 6+ years of experience in demand generation or growth marketing in B2B SaaS, with an interest in making a difference in K-12 education
  • A track record of building campaigns that generated measurable, repeatable pipeline, and the ability to report marketing's contribution clearly to leadership
  • Hands-on expertise with marketing automation and CRM platforms (we use HubSpot), including lead scoring and attribution
  • Experience building landing pages and marketing assets, with comfort working in tools like Webflow, Canva, or similar to ship polished materials with light design support
  • Strong written communication skills, able to write persuasive copy and translate between marketing and sales
  • Comfort with ambiguity and high autonomy in a fast-moving, hands-on role, with a collaborative approach to working across sales, product, and customer success

Position Details

  • This is a remote, full-time position that can be performed anywhere within the US.
  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 15%)
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Compensation for this position ranges between $85,000 - $120,000, with growth potential

Benefits

We are a remote-first company, and we offer a range of perks, including:

  • 401(K) plan with employer matching
  • Universal paid parental leave
  • A variety of medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • An annual stipend for professional learning
  • Flexible PTO policy, extended holiday break, summer Fridays, and “Focus Fridays”  – a day with limited Slack and meetings throughout the year

We are building products that help every educator thrive. To do so, we need a team that includes diverse perspectives and a shared willingness to challenge ourselves to improve every day. We recognize that underrepresented groups may be less likely to apply to a role if they don’t meet 100% of the listed qualifications.
