JOB TITLE: Data Analyst
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Regular Consultant level I
UNIT/DIVISION: CFOFC, CFO Division
DUTY STATION (City, Country): Remote
DURATION: until 31.12.2026 extendable to 11 Months
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Cash-based transfers (CBT) are one of the modalities WFP uses to deliver humanitarian assistance. These include transfers made through physical banknotes, e-money, mobile money, vouchers, or debit cards. By providing sufficient cash to meet food and other essential needs, the World Food Programme (WFP) aims to ensure that families are not forced to reallocate limited resources at the expense of their food security. The Finance function, through the Business Development and Cash-Based Transfers Branch (CFOFC), supports the effective implementation of CBTs by developing corporate tools and guidance, offering technical advice to Country Offices, and leading staff capacity-building initiatives. Several teams within CFOFC conduct CBT-related assessments at separate phases of the CBT business process. These assessments play a critical role in the FSP selection and contracting process, including identifying risks and mitigation measures relevant to the FSP's proposed payment solution. Using the DOTs platform, the key indicators from the different assessments have been made available and are being used in the monitoring of risks of FSPs. The use and expansion of the database will facilitate CFOFC’s analytical oversight capabilities and empower users and managers to query the data to solve operational problems and answer a range of CBT business-related questions.
