About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager – Government & Commercial Contracts to help build and scale Transit Technologies' enterprise contracting function.

Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, this highly visible role will lead our government contracting activities while partnering closely with Procurement, Finance, Sales, Product, Information Technology, and executive leadership to negotiate strategic commercial and vendor agreements.

Approximately two-thirds of the role will focus on government contracting, including GSA schedules, government proposals, contract compliance, and public sector contracting activities. Approximately one-third of the role will support vendor, procurement, technology, SaaS, software licensing, and other commercial agreements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building scalable contracting processes, improving operational efficiency, leveraging AI and automation, and helping shape a modern contracts function within a growing private equity-backed SaaS company.

Key Responsibilities

Government Contracting

  • Lead Transit Technologies' government contracting strategy across federal, state, and local markets.
  • Manage GSA Schedules, government contract vehicles, RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and proposal support activities.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • Serve as the company's subject matter expert on government contracting matters.
  • Partner with Sales and business leaders to support public sector growth initiatives.

Commercial & Vendor Contracting

  • Negotiate vendor, procurement, technology, SaaS, software licensing, professional services, and other commercial agreements.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, Product, Security, and business leaders to balance commercial objectives with legal and operational risk.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines.
  • Support strategic procurement initiatives and vendor relationships across the organization.

Process Improvement & Operations

  • Build scalable contracting processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
  • Serve as the business owner for the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform, including ongoing administration, maintenance, optimization, user adoption, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve contract review, negotiation, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
  • Develop meaningful metrics and reporting to improve contracting performance.
  • Drive continuous process improvement across the contracts function.

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of progressive contracts management experience.
  • Strong government contracting experience, including GSA, FAR/DFARS, government procurement, and public sector contracting.
  • Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional business leaders.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
  • Experience working within a technology or SaaS organization is preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience negotiating SaaS, technology, procurement, licensing, vendor, and professional services agreements.
  • Experience administering or optimizing Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve contracting efficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience building or transforming contracting processes within a growing organization.
  • CFCM, CPCM, PMP, JD, or similar professional certification is a plus.

  • Become a trusted advisor on both government and commercial contracting.
  • Build scalable contracting processes that support Transit Technologies' continued growth.
  • Ensure the CLM platform is effectively maintained, optimized, and adopted across the organization.
  • Improve contract turnaround times while maintaining strong compliance.
  • Successfully partner across Legal, Sales, Finance, Procurement, Product, and executive leadership.
  • Help modernize the contracts function through AI-enabled workflows, data-driven insights, and continuous process improvement.
