Now Hiring: Commercial Lending Assistant
As a Commercial Lending Assistant, you’ll be the driving force behind your lender’s success. You provide support where needed, ensure the timely loan processing and are a source of information for internal stakeholders and the borrowers. This role is a unique blend of commercial banking expertise, customer service and administrative support.
What You’ll Contribute in This Role:
- You are an extension of your lender
From providing ongoing sales support and identifying sales and cross sell opportunities to coordinating materials for presentations or assisting with setting up sales calls- you are the support system your lender(s) need to do what they do best. You have your eyes and ears everywhere, anticipate needs and provide solutions where others give up. You handle the daily routine tasks, expedite ad-hoc requests and support with CRM management as directed.
- You manage the loan process
You are the string holder behind the scenes and manage the loan process efficiently and proactively from origination through closing. You ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation every step of the way, enter financial information into the loan system, resolve documentation exceptions, update financial statements and prepare files for portfolio review. You also maintain prospect lists and run reports to track maturing lines/loans. You keep your lender in the know on portfolio activity by monitoring past due accounts and ensure consistent communication and follow up on portfolio past dues.
- Keep things moving
You liaise masterfully and know how to get the right people at the table to keep things moving along efficiently. You coordinate the opening of deposit and other banking services with branch and deposit operations partners and build strong internal relationships to ensure quick turnaround times on all requests. You are knowledgeable and prompt resource for your borrowers and respond to customer inquiries or issues with urgency and outstanding customer service.
- Administrative Support
You support your lender with administrative tasks, including reporting and various HR related matters. You keep your lender on track and ensure timely completion of all requests and requirements.

You understand commercial banking and leverage your deep knowledge to ensure compliance with all applicable best practices in loan servicing as well as policies, procedures, and business processes ensuring compliance with all State and Federal lending requirements. You will be sure to quickly pursue and demonstrate an understanding of established Bank policies, procedures, and regulations- and will diligently follow them at all times. Recognizing the importance of protecting the organization and our customers, you will question suspicious activity and stay in close collaboration with our Compliance department to ensure proper investigation and processing of potentially fraudulent activity. You will stay informed on legal context and regulatory requirements and prioritize completing all web-based compliance and IT training.
What You’ll Leverage in this Role:
- Your Experience and Education This isn’t your first rodeo in commercial banking, and you are able to complete assignments with little oversight and supervision. You have multiple years of experience supporting commercial bankers and handle routine and ad hoc tasks proactively and self-sufficiently. Your experience is founded on technical knowledge, preferably through a bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent education and formal training paired with strong accounting and math skills.
