Expert en sinistres – Automobile

Objectif principal

Relevant du chef d’équipe, l’expert en sinistres automobile est responsable d’offrir un niveau de service constamment élevé en enquêtant sur les réclamations d’assurance pour le compte d’assureurs ou de tiers et en négociant le règlement des sinistres à la satisfaction de toutes les parties concernées.

Fonctions et responsabilités essentielles

  • Doit avoir une bonne connaissance en révision et analyse de couverture.
  • Gérer de façon autonome les enquêtes complètes au téléphone sur les dossiers assignés, tout en respectant les normes de qualité de l’entreprise, notamment : recueillir tous les renseignements pertinents relatifs aux pertes; déterminer la couverture et la validité des réclamations; communiquer avec les assurés et les demandeurs; préparer les rapports; négocier les règlements.
  • Maintenir des dossiers de façon concise conformément aux normes et procédures de l’entreprise à l’aide des systèmes informatiques internes.
  • Examiner et interpréter les libellés de police afin de confirmer et d’appliquer la couverture des pertes.
  • Gérer avec exactitude et efficacité la facturation des dossiers assignés dans les délais prescrits.
  • Maintenir d’excellentes relations de travail avec les clients existants afin de soutenir le développement des affaires.
  • Participer à la formation continue afin de demeurer à jour quant aux enjeux, aux changements législatifs et aux tendances de l’industrie.

Qualifications

Formation et permis

  • Détenir le permis d’expert en sinistres requis dans la province concernée.
  • Obtenir le permis nécessaire dans la province locale ou dans une combinaison d’autres provinces dans les six mois suivant la date d’embauche.
  • Détenir un diplôme universitaire de quatre ans ou l’équivalent, ou une expérience pertinente en règlement de sinistres, ou encore un diplôme collégial de deux ans dans un domaine connexe.
  • Être inscrit au programme PAA (Professionnel d’assurance agréé) ou avoir obtenu le titre PAA (CIP).
  • Permis d’expert en sinistre du Québec (AMF) requis ou capacité de l’obtenir.
  • Une expérience en règlement de sinistres commerciaux et/ou la détention d’un permis d’expert en sinistre commercial au Québec est considérée comme un atout important.

 

Expérience

  • Réussite au programme de stagiaire de Sedgwick ou expérience préalable auprès d’un administrateur tiers (TPA), d’un expert en sinistres sur la route ou d’un assureur.
  • De 1 à 3 années d’expérience en gestion et règlement de sinistres.
  • L’expérience en sinistres de transport/cargo constitue un atout.

Compétences et connaissances

  • Excellentes compétences en règlement de sinistres, en négociation et en analyse.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en relations interpersonnelles et en communication.
  • Maîtrise avancée des outils informatiques, notamment Microsoft Office, Outlook et les applications Web.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Reporting to the Team Leader, the Claims Adjuster, Auto is responsible for providing a consistently high level of service by investigating insurance claims for insurers or third parties and negotiating settlement of the claims to the satisfaction of all parties.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be familiar with reviewing coverage analysis.
  • Manages comprehensive desktop investigation of assigned claims while meeting company standards and quality, including obtaining all required loss details and relevant information; determining coverage and validity of claims,  and communicating  with insured and claimants; preparing reports and negotiating settlements
  • Maintains accurate records based on company standards and procedures, using company custom computer systems
  • Reviews and interprets policy wording to confirm and apply coverage of losses
  • Accurately and efficiently manages the billing for assigned files, within specified timelines
  • Maintains an excellent working relationship with existing clients to further develop business
  • Committed to continuous education to keep up-to-date with all industry and legislative issues and changes
  • Identifies the need and co-ordination of task assignments utilizing field adjusters

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Education & Licensing: Licensed in local provinceObtain license in local province or other provinces combination within 6 months of hire date4-Year college degree or equivalent or relative claim experience or 2-year associate’s degree in related field
  • Enrolled in CIP or completed CIP Designation Licensed in local province.
  • Quebec Adjuster Licence (AMF) required or ability to obtain
  • Commercial lines adjusting experience and/or Commercial Quebec Adjuster License considered a strong asset.

 

 

Experience: Success as Sedgwick trainee or prior TPA/Field and/or carrier experience1–3-year claims handling experience.Cargo experience an asset
