Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chinese Medical Reviewer to support global pharmaceutical and healthcare communications programs. This role will be responsible for reviewing, translating, adapting, and quality-checking complex scientific, medical, and healthcare content in Simplified Chinese.

The ideal candidate will possess strong linguistic expertise and the ability to accurately interpret and communicate complex medical and scientific information. A background in life sciences, healthcare, pharmacy, or related disciplines is highly preferred. However, candidates with extensive experience reviewing and translating highly technical content within regulated industries will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate Simplified Chinese translations of pharmaceutical, medical, and scientific content for linguistic accuracy, consistency, and medical appropriateness.
  • Translate complex healthcare and scientific materials from English to Simplified Chinese and vice versa as needed.
  • Ensure terminology aligns with approved glossaries, style guides, and client requirements.
  • Conduct medical and linguistic quality reviews of content intended for healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with medical writers, content developers, communication specialists, and subject matter experts to resolve scientific and terminology-related queries.
  • Maintain consistency across projects by leveraging translation memories, terminology databases, and reference materials.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality, regulatory, and compliance standards.
  • Support localization strategies to ensure cultural relevance and audience appropriateness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biotechnology, Healthcare, Linguistics, Translation Studies, or a related field.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in medical review, medical translation, localization, or scientific communications.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Simplified Chinese with excellent command of English.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and translating complex scientific, medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare content.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare communication standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality assurance skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, healthcare communications, or medical affairs organizations.
  • Experience reviewing promotional and non-promotional pharmaceutical content.
  • Familiarity with medical communications, publications, clinical research, and patient-facing materials.
  • Experience using CAT tools and translation management systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to healthcare communications.
