Chief Strategy Officer

Primary Job Duties:

Set a multi-year business development and capture strategy for growth, including which opportunities the company pursues and how it teams with other contractors.  

Partner with growth team on outreach and relationship-building with current and prospective government clients and teaming partners, within the limits described under Compliance Requirements letter from CMS ethics. 

Direct efforts to grow annual revenue (with executive team), shift the revenue mix toward prime contracts. 

Train and coach staff on writing procurement responses and capability statements that use specific, quantified outcomes rather than general descriptions of experience. 

Provide structured feedback on proposal drafts and increase staff members' independence over time as their work meets a consistent quality standard. 

Identify staff members ready to take ownership of individual business opportunities, including client relationship management, and expand their responsibilities accordingly. 

Set clear expectations, timelines, and deliverables for the company's growth objectives, and assign ownership of specific tasks to appropriate staff members. 

Track progress against growth objectives on a regular schedule and adjust staffing and assignments as needed. 

Identify gaps in current staffing and recommend new hires needed to support business development and growth objectives. 

Support the company's financial readiness for a future sale of the business, including clean financial reporting, contract documentation, and reduced dependence on any one individual for continuity of operations.
