The CDI Analyst provides expertise in clinical documentation process improvement, data integration, and analytic design to support leadership and clinical teams. They are responsible for ensuring data integrity, maintaining databases, and collaborating with IT to test and support clinical applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Associates Degree
OR
Three (3) years clinical experience as Registered Nurse in outpatient/ambulatory or inpatient acute care setting
OR
Three (3) of clinical experience as Licensed Practical Nurse in outpatient/ambulatory or inpatient acute care setting
2. Certification in one of the following:
Health Information Management with Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) OR Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) through The American Health Information Management Association.
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through The American Health Information Management Association.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through The American Academy of Professional Coders.
Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) through The American Academy of Professional Coders.
Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) OR Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist- Outpatient (CCDS-O) through the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists.
Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP) through the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists.
Certified Documentation Expert Inpatient (CDEI) or Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient (CDEO) through The American Academy of Professional Coders.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Two (2) years CDI experience
2. Three (3) years of experience with various computer applications including Excel, 3M360, Epic, Word, Tableau, and Power Point etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience with data extraction.
2. Experience with the Development and maintenance of metrics and communication dashboards.
3. Experience in Revenue Cycle.

5. Serves as a lead member of process improvement teams. Participates as a team member to test applications; prepares system test scripts, uses automated software for testing, performs full range of testing methods, emphasizing ability of the system to meet functional and usability requirements. Responsible for collaboration with IT.
6. Provides expertise in analytics, requirements, outcomes, interpretation, and development.
7. Sets up and maintains data bases and workflows. Provides drill down analytics and validation of data.
8. Provides consultation to team members, providers, and leadership regarding the interpretation of data.
9. Assists in CDI Staffing as needed.
10. Contributes to performance monitoring and capacity planning for assigned applications.
11. Uses analytical skills to complete end-user requests for support/changes to existing applications and interfaces as appropriate.
12. Trouble shoots problems, identifies changes needed to resolve problems or satisfy requests, and reports status of work to end-user. Performs department and user needs analysis for the purpose of daily system operational support including problem resolution and potential application changes.
13. Builds, tests, and maintains reports. Identifies opportunities to enhance analysis and reporting data.
