We currently have a great career opportunity for a Casualty Claims Risk Consultant. It is the responsibility of the Casualty Claims Risk Consultant to deliver tactical, client specific, casualty claims services on assigned accounts in support of Aon’s core brokerage services. This position is for a workers’ compensation, auto and general liability professional.

How this role is different

The Casualty Claims Risk Consultant is responsible for serving as a trusted claims resource to client claim management teams by:

  • Monitoring and reviewing workers' compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the status, drivers, and next steps for all assigned open claims and proactively identifying opportunities to advance claims toward resolution.
  • Providing timely and accurate responses to client inquiries regarding claim status, barriers to closure, resolution strategies, reserve adequacy, and settlement considerations.
  • Proactively coordinating with carriers, TPAs, defense counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure claims progress appropriately and receive the necessary attention.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve claim outcomes through best-practice claim handling, cost containment strategies, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Developing and maintaining recurring monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reporting and analytics to support client decision-making and program oversight.
  • Serving as a day-to-day extension of the client's claims management team by remaining organized, prepared, and informed on a large volume of claims and related activities.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Demonstrated expertise in workers' compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims management.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated professional with the discipline to independently manage a large portfolio of claims and consistently stay current on claim developments.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex claim situations and recommend practical strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain claim status, challenges, and recommendations clearly and confidently to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, TPAs, carriers, defense counsel, Account Executives, and internal partners.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prepare client-facing reports.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently delivering high-quality, responsive service in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum qualifications and requirements

  • Proven performer with strong technical knowledge and work experience adjusting or managing claims experience with emphasis on casualty lines of coverage.
  • Retain proficiency as an insurance professional while maintaining clear and effective communication, both in writing and verbally.
  • Fluent in Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Minimum education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Producer/Broker licensing may be required after hiring

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $96,500.00 to $110,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
