About the Role

The Business Development Director will lead and drive business development efforts for our construction products and services throughout the Midwest, with a focus on revenue growth, market expansion, and developing long-term customer relationships.

This remote role requires a proven construction sales and business development professional with an established network of contractors, developers, owners, architects, engineers, and other industry stakeholders throughout the Midwest. The Business Development Director will identify new business opportunities, understand customer needs, develop tailored solutions, and build strategic relationships across the assigned territory.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the Midwest construction industry, established regional relationships, and the ability to identify growth opportunities across multiple markets and states.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales or business development experience in the construction industry or a closely related sector.

  • Proven track record of generating new business and meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Strong knowledge of construction products, services, and market dynamics.

  • Established relationships within the Midwest construction industry, including contractors, developers, owners, architects, engineers, or consultants.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned Midwest territory as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing business across multiple Midwestern states.

  • Established network of contacts with general contractors, developers, building owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and other construction industry professionals.

  • Experience selling construction products, building systems, engineered solutions, or related services.

  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools.

  • Experience developing and executing regional business development strategies.

  • Knowledge of Midwest construction market trends, regional development activity, and competitive dynamics.

  • Advanced degree or certifications related to sales, business, or construction management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives throughout the Midwest.

  • Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities within target markets and customer segments.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, contractors, developers, owners, architects, engineers, and other industry stakeholders.

  • Leverage existing industry relationships and develop new networks to expand the company's market presence across the region.

  • Research market conditions, industry trends, construction activity, and competitive dynamics to identify new opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurately track opportunities through the CRM.

  • Collaborate with marketing, estimating, operations, project management, and other internal teams to support successful customer engagement and project delivery.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking opportunities throughout the Midwest.

  • Identify strategic accounts and develop long-term plans to increase market penetration and revenue across multiple states.

  • Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, market opportunities, customer relationships, and progress toward sales objectives.
