Purpose

Ensure profitable Bamberger Amco Polymers growth through account development and opportunity pipeline development in support of our key line card partners and in support of the BA Polymers commercial sales team. The role relies on the broad knowledge and expertise of the business development leader in the multiple market segments for commodities- film, OEM processes and protocols as well as a deep knowledge of the overall plastic resin supply chain. The BDM will bring together these key skills and knowledge to serve in a leadership and field role for North America.

 

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

  • Drive growth for flexible film product lines across the U.S. & Canada

    Lead new business development + expansion within existing accounts

    Support sales team on key opportunities and strategic account growth

    Identify and communicate market trends, competitive activity, and customer demand

    Partner closely with Technical Manager (Film) to:

    • Support product positioning + consultative selling
    • Deliver training and market insights to sales teams

    Act as a subject matter resource on:

    • Film applications
    • Supplier product lines
    • End-market opportunities

    Work cross-functionally with:

    • Product Management
    • Sales leadership
    • Regional sales teams
    • Suppliers

    Call directly on OEMs, converters, and key accounts to:

    • Drive product qualification and specification
    • Open new opportunities and expand customer base

    Own and manage pipeline development, including:

    • Customer visits
    • Opportunity tracking (CRM)
    • Account targeting and follow-up

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

  • 4 year Technical or Business degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of plastics industry experience in sales, application development, business development or market management in the film industry. Plastics distribution experience a plus
  • Strong business acumen with strong presentation skills
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.  
  • Proven track record of success selling value added products
  • Experience with CRM platforms
  • 50% overnight travel, primarily with the sales team to visit existing and target accounts
  • Detail oriented, disciplined, ability to prioritize & multi-task 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

 

Work Environment / Conditions

  • Must be able to operate and travel by passenger vehicle.
  • Open and able to travel occasionally by air.
  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

  4. Ability to setup desk equipment including setting up equipment on top of desks and connecting cables and power cords under desk (requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling).
