Overview

Hexagon’s Agriculture division is seeking a Business Development Manager to help grow its autonomy solutions portfolio. This role bridges marketing, sales, and customer-facing teams by leading customer field days, developing qualified opportunities, and supporting account managers as a subject-matter expert throughout the sales cycle. The Business Development Manager will also provide market insights into Marketing and Engineering to help shape the product roadmap.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is home-based and can be located anywhere in Europe, with proximity to a major international airport preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline, track customer engagements, and maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Drive product adoption by delivering hands-on training for the installation and use of vision-based autonomy solutions to end users and channel partners.
  • Lead customer field days, including demonstrations, evaluations, and proof-of-concept trials that build confidence and accelerate the sales cycle.
  • Identify new use cases and growth opportunities by staying close to customers and tracking evolving market needs across key agricultural segments.
  • Provide structured product feedback to Marketing and Engineering, capturing field insights on performance, integration challenges, competitive dynamics, and feature gaps.
  • Develop tailored sales materials, including presentations, pitch decks, and executive communications.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback that supports the development of the sales strategy and the creation of technical content, RFI/RFQ responses, and customer sales presentations.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • 10+ years in technical sales, field applications, market development, or other customer-facing technical role.
  • Extensive agriculture experience across broadacre, row crop, or permanent crop segments, ideally with channel or distribution exposure.
  • Working knowledge of autonomy-enabling technologies such as GNSS/INS, ROS, CAN bus, machine vision, or perception systems.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills, including technical training, product demos, and executive presentations.
  • Fluent English, strong self-management skills, ability to travel up to 50%, and proficiency with Microsoft 365 and CRM tools.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with product lifecycle feedback processes and collaboration with product management teams.
  • Additional European language skills (German, French, Dutch, or Nordic languages particularly valued).
  • Experience with utilizing or integrating perception sensors into a precision farming system.
