The Welding SME serves as the technical authority for weld joint design, process qualification, and inspection across various alloy materials. They are responsible for bridging the gap between engineering and operations while spearheading continuous improvement and metallurgical troubleshooting.
Job Description
Role:
The Welding Subject Matter Expert (SME) is the technical authority on weld joint design, weld process and weld qualification and inspection (including but not limited to copper, aluminum and stainless-steel alloy materials). This technical position bridges the gap between engineering, quality control, operations and suppliers. They ensure strict code compliance and troubleshoot metallurgical challenges. They will elevate internal and supplier welding capabilities, spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, combining heads-on expertise with strategic process development. . Engagement will be for near term and future R&D efforts.
