Books Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager, APA Publishing Books Sales & Marketing

Note: APA operates on a 37.5-hour work week with one-hour lunch breaks each day. APA sets salaries based on several considerations, including years of relevant experience, level of education, and previous staff and/or governance experience at APA.

The Book Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager develops and executes social media and digital marketing tactics to expand the profiles of APA Style, APA Books and Magination Press Children’s Books with the goal of increasing revenue and reach through strategic engagement.

The successful candidate will:

• Support day-to-day activities necessary for the successful operation of social media and digital marketing
• Be detailed oriented
• Understand how to leverage content to build sales.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Five years + experience in social media marketing/branding or digital marketing is required
• Relevant digital book marketing experience, including advertising strategies and placements, specifically LinkedIn and YouTube, other social media platforms, and other opportunities.

Skills Required:

• MS Office Suite
• Hootsuite or equivalent social media aggregator
• YouTube platform
• LinkedIn platform
• Writing and editing proficiency
• Familiarity with Canva is helpful  
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative workplace
• Enthusiasm for books, publishing, and sales and marketing
• Understanding of APA’s mission and how it relates to the publishing program

Responsibilities:

• Content Creation & Scheduling: Produce engaging, tailored content (photos, short-form video) to build community, managing daily posting across platforms.
• Campaign Management: Plan, implement, and monitor social campaigns, giveaways, and promotions to support title launches and backlist marketing.
• Author Support: Collaborate with authors on their individual social platforms, offering support and ensuring brand consistency.
• Community Engagement: Actively monitor and respond to comments/messages to foster a vibrant community and manage brand reputation.
• Analytics & Reporting: Analyze social media metrics to track campaign success and provide insights to improve future strategies.
• Influencer Relations: Develop relationships with influencers (BookTokers, Bookstagrammers) to increase visibility.
• Trend Monitoring: Stay current on social media trends, tools, and digital marketing developments to keep content relevant.
• Other duties as assigned
