Back-End Developers

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our technology team and take responsibility for designing, developing, testing and maintaining scalable, secure and high-performance backend applications and services.

The successful candidate will work closely with frontend developers, solution architects, DevOps engineers, product teams and other stakeholders to build reliable solutions that support business requirements and deliver an excellent user experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
  
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and web services.
  
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable and well-documented code.
  
• Design, develop and optimize databases and data-access layers.
  
• Integrate backend systems with third-party APIs, applications and services.
  
• Implement appropriate authentication, authorization and data-security controls.
  
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application and production issues.
  
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing and performance testing.
  
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
  
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure effective API and system integration.
  
• Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, deployments and production environments.
  
• Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  
• Contribute to system architecture, technical documentation and solution design.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and technical discussions.
  
• Maintain version control and development workflows using Git.
  
• Support continuous improvement of development processes, tools and technical standards.

Programming

Experience with one or more of the following:

Databases

Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including:

• Microsoft SQL Server
  
• MongoDB or similar technologies
  

Development & DevOps

• Git and version control
  
• CI/CD pipelines
  
• Docker and containerization
  
• Kubernetes is advantageous
  
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
  
• Logging, monitoring and application performance management
  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
  
• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
  
• Strong experience developing backend applications and APIs.
  
• Experience working with databases and data modelling.
  
• Experience with software development methodologies and Agile environments.
  
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle principles.
  
• Experience with cloud technologies and containerization is advantageous.
