We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and forward-thinking Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Reinsurance Reporting and Analytics to drive financial reporting, advanced analytics, and operational execution for our growing multi-billion-dollar portfolio.

Serving as a key corporate subject matter expert, you will provide both strategic vision and firsthand leadership to ensure our complex reinsurance transactions are accurately settled, reconciled, recorded, and optimized. This high-impact role acts as the bridge between Reinsurance, Accounting, Finance, Legal, Technology, and Investment teams, as well as external institutional asset managers, auditors, and regulators. If you are an insurance finance leader who thrives on building scalable infrastructure and translating complex treaty data into strategic insights, this role is built for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Close Leadership: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities related to the organization’s complex reinsurance transactions and structures.

• Settlements & Reconciliation: Oversee detailed reinsurance settlements, including transaction reconciliation, revenue-sharing arrangements, fees, asset allocations, and treaty-specific components.

• General Ledger & Reporting Integration: Partner closely with Statutory and GAAP financial reporting teams to reconcile reinsurance activity to the Oracle Cloud Ledger; support the production of financial statements, disclosures, and audited reporting.

• Deal Onboarding & Data Automation: Lead the financial and data onboarding of new reinsurance treaties. Collaborate with origination, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure operational readiness through robust data mapping and system integration.

• Advanced Portfolio Analytics: Develop, maintain, and elevate analytical reporting frameworks to evaluate the financial performance, profitability, and key risk metrics of the reinsurance portfolio.

• Modernize Infrastructure: Identify key opportunities to automate reporting processes, enhance data governance standards, and leverage modern tech tools to strengthen the scalability of global reinsurance operations.

• Internal Controls & Audit Management: Maintain and enhance rigorous internal controls and process documentation. Serve as a primary point of contact for internal/external auditors and regulatory examinations.

• Team Development: Directly lead, mentor, and develop the Reinsurance Reporting and Analytics staff by establishing clear priorities, assigning work, and supporting professional employee development.

Core Competencies

• Reinsurance & Annuity Domain Expertise: Advanced, practical knowledge of life and annuity reinsurance treaty mechanics, settlements, and accounting rules, with specific expertise in Fixed Indexed Annuity (FIA) and Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuity (MYGA) structures.

• Analytical Problem Solving: Strong capability to dissect complex reinsurance provisions, evaluate treaty profitability, and interpret massive transactional datasets with absolute precision.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate technical financial information clearly to senior executives, legal counsel, technology partners, and external stakeholders.

• Data-Driven Mindset: Passion for data integrity and building automated, scalable internal control environments that protect institutional assets.

• System Familiarity: Demonstrated experience working with complex financial ledgers and data platforms (Oracle Cloud or comparable enterprise financial software preferred).

• Leadership: 2+ years of formal people management or significant cross-functional team leadership experience.

• Compliance & Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Credentials & Skills

• Technical Accounting: Experience managing complex structures such as coinsurance, funds withheld, modified coinsurance (Modco), SSAP 61R, or U.S. GAAP deposit accounting/risk transfer analysis.

• Advanced Data Frameworks: Firsthand experience or familiarity with Databricks, SQL, or similar modern analytics platforms.

• Offshore Structuring: Exposure to Bermuda statutory reporting, offshore reinsurance vehicles, external asset managers, or asset-backed reinsurance structures.
