Position Summary:
The Audit Analyst will work with the Compliance Director, in conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer, with responsibilities in the Compliance Program and other legal activities.  This will include, but not be limited to, research on applicable laws, rules and regulations, revising policies and procedures, conducting internal/external audits, assisting with training material and risk assessments as well as day-to-day business matters.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and legal support to the Compliance Manager and the Chief Compliance Officer
  • Research state and federal laws and regulations
  • Maintain Compliance Policies and Procedures
  • Conduct internal audits, risk assessments and external audits, identifying weaknesses and deficiencies to assist with process improvement and increase organizational compliance adherence
  • Correct identified errors where appropriate, and communicate trends to appropriate individuals
  • Maintain training materials and adherence
  • Draft correspondence, letters and memoranda
  • Maintain proficiency in HIPAA, HITECH and applicable state privacy requirements
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with various departments
  • Escalate compliance issues that require management to provide a timely resolution
  • Perform other duties assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or 3+ years of experience working in compliance, audit, or risk for a healthcare company required
  • Multistate healthcare experience desirable
  • Experience in researching and analyzing state and federal law and regulations
  • Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA, HITECH and state privacy requirements
 
Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, strong work ethic and results-driven
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to handle multiple, complex and competing priorities and projects
Travel:
  • Limited Travel, Scheduled per needs of the business
