About the Role:
A professional and articulate Attorney Sourcing Specialist is needed to support a confidential attorney recruitment initiative for a boutique family law practice in the Los Angeles area.
The role focuses on identifying, researching, and professionally approaching qualified attorneys who may be open to exploring a new opportunity. The specialist will conduct confidential outbound outreach, primarily through phone and email, qualify initial interest, answer basic questions using approved recruitment materials, and schedule interested attorneys for a conversation with the principal.
This is a confidential search, and the client firm's name must not be disclosed during initial outreach. The ideal candidate is confident speaking with professionals, comfortable with cold calling, highly organized, and able to maintain discretion when handling sensitive recruitment information.
Key Responsibilities:
Attorney Research & Sourcing
- Research and identify attorneys who match the client's target profile using public sources such as the California State Bar, law firm websites, Google, and LinkedIn.
- Verify contact and professional information and maintain an organized list of potential candidates.
- Focus on attorneys with relevant family law experience, particularly associates, counsel, and other non-owner professionals.
Confidential Outreach
- Conduct professional cold calls and email outreach using approved scripts and recruitment materials.
- Introduce confidential opportunities while maintaining the client's privacy.
- Answer basic questions, assess initial interest, and identify qualified prospects.
- Handle conversations professionally and respectfully, including documenting candidates who are not interested.
Candidate Follow-Up & Pipeline
- Maintain an organized tracker of contacted attorneys, conversation outcomes, and follow-up dates.
- Follow up with interested or future prospects as appropriate.
- Keep the candidate pipeline updated so potential opportunities are not missed.
Scheduling & Reporting
- Schedule qualified and interested attorneys for introductory calls with the principal.
- Maintain accurate outreach records and provide simple updates on sourcing activity, interested prospects, and scheduled interviews.
- Share recurring questions, feedback, or patterns from outreach with the principal.
Qualifications & Ideal Traits:
Must-Have
- Previous experience in cold calling, outbound sales, appointment setting, recruiting, customer service, or similar client-facing communication roles.
- Excellent spoken English and professional communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking with attorneys, professionals, and other senior-level individuals.
- Confident and articulate when initiating conversations with people who were not expecting the call.
- Ability to follow a script while keeping conversations natural and conversational.
- Comfortable handling rejection and objections professionally.
