ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

STEM From Dance (SFD) equips girls to become the innovators, engineers, and creators the world needs, building creativity, confidence, and skills through the transformative power of dance. America needs one million new STEM professionals in the next decade, and SFD builds the pathway to find them in the communities where talent is most abundant and most overlooked.

Our dance-integrated methodology, developed internally over 14 years, does what conventional STEM education cannot. Through joyful and rigorous learning, it builds the cognitive skills, meaningful connections, and sense of agency girls need to see themselves as innovators, develop skills from AI to data science, and navigate their own STEM futures. We work through facilitators, training the teachers, after-school leaders, community members, and parents who already have daily access to young people, so that every investment multiplies and lasting STEM capacity stays in the community. Our connected program model spans school-year Clubs, summer Camps, single-day Pop Ups, Connect, our AI-powered platform for personalized next steps, and college and career navigation.

The evidence base is strong. Seventy-six percent of participants report feeling they belong in STEM spaces, more than double the national average of 35 percent. Ninety percent express excitement about STEM careers, and 90 percent of participants identify as Black or Hispanic/Latina. SFD has been recognized by CNN (Hero Top 5), MIT, MIT Solve, and the Falling Walls Foundation, and funded by the National Science Foundation, the Simons Foundation, the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust, the Pinkerton Foundation, Google.org, OpenAI, L’Oréal, and Gucci.

Built on a bold mission, an ambitious growth plan, and unwavering core values, STEM From Dance envisions a future where girls from every community lead in STEM careers, drive innovation, and build economic prosperity for their families and communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

SFD’s growth plan depends on demand. Clubs need girls enrolled, schools and community organizations need to know the model exists and want to host it, and the broader audience of funders, partners, and families needs to encounter SFD often enough to take it seriously. This role does the work that creates that demand across the country.

This is an execution seat. SFD’s executive team sets marketing and communications strategy and strategic direction. You take that direction and make it real every day: posting, scheduling, buying, testing, tracking, and reporting. You will know where every lead came from and what it cost, and you will report that honestly enough that SFD can decide where to spend next. Where SFD extends capacity through third-party support, such as outside social media managers, you will oversee that work and hold it to standard.

This is a distinct seat from Brand and Communications, which owns creative design, external brand assets, newsletter copy and staging, and program and parent communications. That seat makes the work look and sound like SFD. This seat gets it in front of the right people and brings back what happened. The two roles are close partners and deliberately review each other’s content. A second set of eyes on content and design makes both stronger.

You will also run the SFD Press Room, our proprietary AI-driven PR intelligence tool. SFD built it as the working alternative to hiring a public relations agency, and expanding our presence across platforms and supporting our CEO’s thought leadership runs through that tool rather than through an outside firm.

This is a full-time position based outside the United States.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Social media execution
  • Paid digital advertising
  • Lead generation and reporting
  • Provide thought leadership and run the organization's proprietary PR tool
  • Write Campaign copy consistent with our messaging framework

WHO YOU ARE

To fulfill these responsibilities, you have the following:

  • You have hands-on paid digital experience, having built and optimized campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn, or comparable platforms yourself rather than briefing someone else to do it.
  • You are fluent in social media as a marketer, not just as a user, and you understand how each platform’s audience and algorithm differ.
  • You are comfortable with numbers, including cost per lead, conversion rates, and attribution, and you would rather report a disappointing result accurately than a flattering one loosely.
  • You are a strong writer in English who can move between a social caption, an ad headline, a landing page, and a press pitch without losing the voice.
  • You have strong generative AI fluency, and you are comfortable operating an internal AI tool as a core part of your daily workflow rather than an occasional shortcut.
  • You are design-literate enough to give useful creative feedback and make light adjustments, without needing to be the designer.
  • You are comfortable holding vendors to standard, giving clear briefs and direct feedback when contracted work misses.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in marketing, growth, or communications.
  • You have experience in growth marketing to schools and community partners.
  • You are available during Eastern Time business hours.
  • Nonprofit or education experience is welcome but not required.
  • Experience marketing to funders, community organizations, and schools is a plus.
