Associate Director, International Student Recruitment – Caribbean

Position Summary

The Associate Director (AD), International Student Recruitment – Caribbean, reporting to the Executive Director, International Student Recruitment, is responsible for developing and executing strategic and tactical recruitment initiatives across designated Caribbean markets, while leading the Caribbean recruitment team. This role is accountable for achieving recruitment targets within agreed budgets, expanding SGU's market presence, strengthening strategic partnerships, and providing market intelligence to support institutional recruitment strategy and sustainable regional growth.

Essential Functions

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute regional recruitment strategies and tactical plans to achieve enrollment targets within budget and at the lowest possible cost of acquisition.
  • Monitor recruitment performance, market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities, adapting strategies where required.
  • Identify opportunities to expand SGU's presence throughout the Caribbean through new partnerships and recruitment initiatives.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Line manage the International Recruitment Officer (IRO), providing leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Oversee activity planning, pipeline management, and Salesforce CRM usage to ensure timely follow-up and high-quality student engagement.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on achieving recruitment objectives.

Market Development & Relationship Building

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with education agents, schools, colleges, universities, sponsors, ministries, and other recruitment partners throughout the Caribbean.
  • Create and implement strategic account plans for key recruitment partners.
  • Represent SGU at exhibitions, recruitment fairs, presentations, webinars, school visits, and institutional meetings.
  • Identify and cultivate new recruitment opportunities across designated territories.

Student Recruitment & Admissions Support

  • Counsel prospective students and their families throughout the recruitment and admissions journey.
  • Support lead generation, lead conversion, and applicant pipeline management through Salesforce CRM.
  • Partner closely with Admissions to ensure a seamless applicant experience from inquiry through enrollment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Admissions, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Academic Affairs, and other SGU departments to support recruitment objectives.
  • Work with Marketing to develop regional campaigns and provide market intelligence for promotional materials.
  • Share market insights and best practices with Regional Directors and recruitment colleagues globally.

Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports covering recruitment activity, pipeline performance, conversion metrics, budget utilization, and market trends.
  • Present forecasts, enrollment updates, and regional performance reports to leadership.
  • Remain informed of visa regulations, scholarship opportunities, sponsorship programs, competitive activity, and healthcare education developments affecting Caribbean recruitment.

Representation & Travel

  • Travel extensively throughout designated Caribbean territories to build institutional relationships and promote SGU.
  • Represent SGU with government agencies, professional organizations, academic institutions, sponsors, and recruitment partners.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in international student recruitment or a related field.
  • Previous experience managing staff preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.
