You Are

You have spent a decade-plus in the trenches with customers who are trying to tape out chips that push the boundaries of what 3DIC and advanced packaging can do, and you know that winning those accounts requires more than good tools. It requires trust, technical depth, and a team that can show up when things get hard. You have built teams before, not just managed them. You know the difference between hiring someone who can answer questions and hiring someone who can walk into a customer's war room and change the outcome of a project.

You think about customer relationships in quarters and years, not calls and demos. When a design win happens, you can trace it back to specific technical decisions your team helped shape months earlier. You are comfortable in front of a whiteboard with a customer's senior architects and equally comfortable in a strategy session with your sales and product counterparts, translating what you are hearing in the field into something R&D can actually act on.

You do not wait for perfect alignment to move. You build the plan, get your team what they need, and course-correct as you go. At Synopsys, you will lead the Americas AE team for our 3DIC and advanced packaging portfolio, and what you build here will determine whether we win in the accounts that matter most.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and scale the Americas application engineering team supporting Synopsys' 3DIC and advanced packaging solution portfolio across a growing customer base
• Set the technical strategy for how your AE organization engages customers on complex 3DIC design challenges, from early evaluation through production deployment
• Drive customer discovery, opportunity qualification, and technical sales campaigns that result in design wins and measurable revenue growth
• Build and manage a team of senior application engineers who can operate independently with customers and deliver results without constant oversight
• Partner with sales, product, and R&D teams to align customer needs with product roadmaps and ensure your team has the tools and support to win
• Own customer escalations and technical roadblocks that require senior leadership engagement, working directly with customers when the stakes are high
• Travel regularly across your region to build relationships with key customers, assess team performance in the field, and represent Synopsys at executive-level technical discussions

• Expand Synopsys' footprint in competitive accounts by leading technical displacement campaigns that require deep domain expertise and strategic execution
• Strengthen cross-functional alignment between field teams and corporate organizations, ensuring that what customers need and what Synopsys delivers stay connected

What You'll Need

• 10+ years in application engineering, technical sales, or customer-facing roles within the EDA or semiconductor industry, with at least 5 years leading teams at a senior level
• Expertise in digital implementation, 3DIC design construction, and multi-physical analysis, enough to be credible in a room full of customer engineers discussing design tradeoffs
• Proven track record managing geographically distributed teams, with experience hiring, developing, and retaining senior technical talent
• Experience driving new business acquisition, competitive displacement, and technical sales campaigns that resulted in measurable revenue impact
• Strong understanding of 3DIC technologies, advanced packaging, and the broader semiconductor design ecosystem
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across your region, up to 40% of the time
• Experience working across EDA and multi-physics solution spaces is a strong plus, particularly familiarity with how Synopsys and Ansys solutions integrate in customer workflows

• You are organized enough to manage multiple high-stakes customer engagements at once and strategic enough to see where the market is going six months before it gets there
• You build relationships that last, with customers who call you first when they have a problem and with internal partners who trust your judgment when priorities conflict
