Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job

The role requires a seasoned and capable HR Consultant with strong generalist HR experience, sound judgement, and the ability to independently manage key elements of the employee life cycle. Working closely with the HR Manager, the successful candidate will support the execution and delivery of the Africa Talent People and Purpose Strategy to internal clients and Deloitte member firms. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, quality, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability, ensuring that HR processes, reporting, data, governance requirements, and employee interactions are managed accurately, professionally, and consistently across the business.

The successful candidate will proactively identify opportunities to improve HR processes, strengthen controls, enhance service delivery and drive efficiencies across the employee life cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • At least 2 years’ experience at consultant level within HR
  • Advance Level of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Data Analytics and Data Analysis

  • GBS Audits: Manages the end-to-end execution of quarterly GBS audit requirements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timely submission, and appropriate evidence retention.

 

Role-Specific Responsibilities

 

Operational Effectiveness

  • Independently support and execute standard HR processes across the employee life cycle, Induction, Onboarding, Exits, HR Reporting, Performance Reviews, Compensation/Bonus Processes, Talent Reviews, Data Integrity, Governance, Data Analytics, Transfers, Maternity, Job Descriptions, and Grading, ensuring accuracy, consistency, confidentiality, and adherence to agreed processes.
  • Manage contractor and flexible workforce processes.
  • Arrange logistics for Onboarding, including business-specific induction and virtual/in-person presentations.
  • Manage the Probation Process – booking meetings and collating feedback ahead of the meetings.
  • Manage the Citrix and Virtual desktop processes with Operations for an effective on-boarding; exit and transfer of ATD employees.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely payroll input for all HR lifecycle events, including new hires, terminations, maternity leave, unpaid leave, transfers, and other employee movements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date schooling information and qualifications data for ATD employees, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Maintain and communicate accurate employee movement information to relevant stakeholders, including Finance, Operations, Payroll, and Planning, ensuring timely and reliable updates.

 

Employee Relations

  • Support the HR Manager in managing complex employee relations matters, including investigations, misconduct processes, grievances, poor performance and disciplinary matters i.e. minute-taking; file preparations etc.
  • Collaborate with OGC in terms of Panel Outcome (Asset Damages) matters – manage end to end.
  • Independently manage routine, non-complex employee relations matters with minimal support and supervision, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, accurate documentation, and alignment with HR governance requirements.

 

Performance Management

  • Prepare accurate Talent Review data for Talent Leads, including Snapshot and Utilisation data, ensuring information is complete, reliable, and quality checked before submission.
  • Prepare accurate and well-structured Round Table schedules in line with the performance management cycle.
  • Set up Round Table discussions for Mid-Year and Year-End Reviews, ensuring all logistics, data, and supporting documentation are accurate and available timeously.
  • Maintain and update accurate People Lead and Coach information for ATD employees, ensuring data integrity and timely communication of changes.
  • Train new hires and provide refresher training to existing employees on the Talent Review/Performance Management processes.
  • Support business units in all performance management matters.

 

HR and Talent Projects

  • Support the HR Manager in the execution of HR-related projects as required, ensuring deliverables are accurate, well-coordinated, and completed to a high standard.
