Job Summary
We are seeking an Adjunct Instructor to join our team! As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be facilitating a classroom, following the agreed-upon class schedule, participating in student discussion boards, and responding to student questions or issues in a timely manner. You will also be grading classwork and providing feedback to help students understand their course materials, address upcoming concerns for students, and ensure each student has the tools they need to succeed. The ideal candidate has a background in education or teaching, has strong communication skills, and can cultivate a positive learning atmosphere. 

Primary Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and teach HIS-101 U.S. History (1600–1877) and HIS-102 U.S.
History (1877–Present)
• Cover course content aligned with Cal-GETC Area 4 Social Sciences and CSU US

History/Institutions requirement

• Document and assess Student Learning Outcomes per ACCJC Standard II.A.4
• Maintain currency with historical scholarship and pedagogical approaches
• Teach 5-week accelerated terms multiple times per academic year
Standard Faculty Responsibilities (All Theoria Instructors)
• Maintain Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) per IPM 4.8 and 34 CFR §600.2
• Submit weekly RSI Self-Log per institutional procedure
• Document Student Learning Outcomes assessment per IPM and Curriculum Committee
schedule
• Provide timely grading and feedback (responses to student communications within 48
hours)
• Participate in faculty development and Curriculum Committee processes as assigned
• Comply with all institutional policies (IPM, FERPA, Title IX, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications
Per California Title 5 §53410 and ACCJC Standard III.A:

• Master's degree in History, OR
• Bachelor's degree in History + Master's degree in Political Science, Humanities,
Geography, Area Studies, or related discipline, OR
• Equivalent qualifications as approved through TTC's faculty equivalency process

Preferred Qualifications
• PhD in History (American History concentration preferred)
• Teaching experience at the community college or university level
• Familiarity with C-ID descriptors HIST 130 (early US) and HIST 140 (later US)
• Online teaching experience (asynchronous, Adobe Connect, or LMS-based)
• Background in U.S. history with attention to diverse populations and inclusive narrative
