Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant with strong experience in Xero and a solid understanding of Australian corporate compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing day-to-day bookkeeping functions while also supporting corporate structuring, ASIC compliance, and cost agreement processes. Exposure to Australian accounting and regulatory frameworks is essential.


Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in Xero
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Process payroll, superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions
• Generate and analyze financial reports including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets
• Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and GST obligations in compliance with ATO requirements
• Prepare payroll tax returns (based on business size and jurisdiction)
• Support corporate secretarial functions including ASIC filings and maintenance of company records
• Assist in setting up and maintaining corporate structures for clients
• Handle cost agreements and related administrative/legal documentation
• Integrate and optimize third-party business applications with Xero
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy


Qualifications:

• Relevant degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
• Minimum 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an Australian business environment
• Strong hands-on experience with Xero (mandatory)
• Working knowledge of ASIC compliance and corporate secretarial processes
• Experience preparing BAS, IAS, and payroll tax returns
• Familiarity with Australian tax and payroll regulations including STP and superannuation
• Experience with MYOB or QuickBooks is advantageous but not essential
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients and internal teams
