About Our Team

The Washington Post’s Content Licensing team is responsible for expanding the reach and monetization of The Washington Post’s world-class journalism through strategic licensing, distribution, and enterprise partnerships. Our partners include leading publishers, business intelligence platforms, media monitoring organizations, financial services firms, AI/data companies, and global distribution platforms.

The team works cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, Editorial, Finance, Legal, PR/Communications, and Sales to support recurring revenue growth, international expansion, and emerging AI/data licensing opportunities.

Why This Role Matters

The Washington Post is seeking an Account Manager to support the Content Licensing team during an extended leave coverage period. This role will focus on account management, onboarding coordination, renewals support, client communication, and operational execution across a portfolio of strategic licensing partners.

The desired candidate will play an important role in ensuring continuity across existing partnerships while supporting onboarding workflows, internal coordination, contract administration, CRM management, and client relationship support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, operationally strong, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams across a fast-moving media and licensing environment.

How You’ll Support The Mission

• Support account management activities across a portfolio of licensing and distribution partners, including renewals coordination, onboarding support, and ongoing relationship management.
• Coordinate onboarding and implementation workflows across Product, Engineering, Editorial, Finance, and Legal teams.
• Manage client communications and support day-to-day requests, issue resolution, and escalation management.
• Maintain account hygiene and lifecycle visibility within Salesforce, including renewal tracking, pipeline updates, contract metadata, and reporting.
• Maintain organized contract records and support internal documentation workflows.
• Support internal coordination for licensing launches, feed updates, and partner deliverables.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure accurate reporting, account visibility, and operational follow-through.

The Skills and Experience You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in account management, client services, sales operations, licensing, media partnerships, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience managing client relationships and coordinating across multiple internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-service mindset.
• Interest in media, publishing, technology, AI/data, or enterprise partnerships preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
