About the role

Highlight is looking for a motivated, energetic Emerging Account Executive to join our growing sales team and help us scale our SaaS platform. This is an AE role designed for someone early in their sales career who is hungry to learn, eager to prove themselves, and excited to grow within a fast-paced, high-growth startup.


As an Emerging Account Executive, you’ll focus on building the foundational skills needed to grow into Mid-Market or Enterprise territories over time. You’ll be supported by leadership, senior team members, marketing, and customer enablement, while developing your own prospecting habits, discovery skills, and commercial instincts. If you’re competitive, coachable, and want to launch a career in SaaS sales, this role is your starting point.

Your impact

  • Own a defined territory of smaller and emerging accounts, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
  • Build pipeline through outbound prospecting; cold outreach, email sequencing, and social selling; to generate your own opportunities
  • Run discovery calls and product demos to understand customer needs and clearly communicate platform value
  • Hit and grow toward quarterly revenue targets, developing consistency and accountability as a seller
  • Position Highlight as a software platform, articulating ROI and differentiation in a clear, compelling way
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity data in CRM, building good habits that will scale with your career
  • Partner with Customer Enablement to ensure smooth onboarding and early customer success for accounts you close
  • Collaborate with Marketing and senior AEs to sharpen your messaging and accelerate your development

About you

  • 0 - 2 years of sales or sales-adjacent experience; prior SDR/BDR experience is a strong fit
  • Genuine hunger to build a career in SaaS sales, with a clear motivation to grow into a quota-carrying AE role
  • Strong communication skills; you’re confident on the phone, clear in writing, and curious in conversation
  • Competitive, goal-oriented mindset; you take ownership of your numbers
  • Coachable and growth-oriented; you actively seek feedback, apply it quickly, and are energized by improving
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the pace of an early-stage startup; you adapt, problem-solve, and stay focused
  • Background selling into CPG, retail, or consumer brands — or experience selling data, analytics, or market research software — is a strong plus and will accelerate your ramp

  • Based on previous experience and skillset, the base salary range for this position: $145,000 - $165,000
