OVERVIEW

We're looking for a full-time Account Director to lead a team of Account Managers, own the client experience across a large portfolio, and set the standard for how Wishpond delivers ROI.

 

As the senior voice on client strategy from the very first call, you’ll guide the direction of each account, coach and develop your team, and be the person who makes sure every client sees a clear reason to stay. This role lives at the intersection of strong client relationships, sharp marketing strategy, and a collaborative, communicative leadership style. In collaboration with company leadership, the Account Director is responsible for Wishpond Technologies' success.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5–8 Account Managers, setting the standard for client communication, campaign quality, and ROI delivery.

• Develop your people into stronger operators, you make the team around you better, and you're the person they turn to when it gets hard.

• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Run kickoff calls for new clients, set clear expectations, align on budgets, and establish the strategic foundation and ROI benchmarks for the engagement.

• Partner with the ads team to turn that strategy into an executable campaign plan, and deliver it to the client with confidence.

• Be the senior voice clients hear at the most important moment in the relationship, and stay close to strategy as the engagement evolves.

• Own the client experience across your portfolio; every client should see clear, demonstrable ROI and a strong reason to grow with us.

• Keep a pulse on account health and act early, turning data and client signals into proactive strategy adjustments.

• Spot patterns across your team and drive improvements to how your team delivers results, not just one-off fixes.

• Lead your team in using our full AI tool stack to deliver high-quality work at a pace traditional agencies can't match.

• Own the quality bar on AI-assisted assets, copy, and reporting before anything reaches a client.

• Stay ahead of what's possible with AI, bring new applications and workflows to the team as the tools evolve.

• Contribute to the broader evolution of Wishpond's service model, processes, and standards.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years in digital marketing, account management, or client strategy with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior individual-contributor role; experience in an SMB‑focused agency or SaaS environment is a strong asset.

• A strong understanding of digital marketing and the SMB landscape, you know what moves the needle for small and mid-sized businesses.

• Experience building or refining onboarding and client success processes.

• A collaborative, highly effective communicator, comfortable and credible in front of both clients and your team.

• A track record of delivering ROI and retaining and growing client relationships.

• Experience leading senior client-facing conversations, including kickoffs, budgets, and strategy.

• Strong coaching instincts and a genuine interest in developing people.

• Comfort working across a full AI tool stack, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.

• Strong coaching instincts — you make the people around you better.

• Genuine fluency with AI tools and a forward-leaning mindset about where the industry is going.

• Comfortable working cross-functionally and owning outcomes

• As part of a diverse team, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Must be technical, analytical, results-driven and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Organized, administratively strong, and have solid writing, phone, and general communication skills.  

• Background in paid media, SEO, email, or full-funnel campaign strategy.

• Hands-on experience with GoHighLevel (GHL) — an advantage, not a requirement.

• Fluent in English; most of our clients are based in the US and Canada

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This is a 100% remote position, and the individual could be based anywhere outside of Canada.

• Given the nature of this role, it is expected that the successful candidate will provide their own workstation, computer, and headset and have a fast and reliable internet connection. Certain roles will be required to utilize and or download company-approved software.

• The individual must be willing to work standard business hours in either the Pacific Time Zone or the Eastern Time Zone.

• Due to the nature of this role, we may verify backgrounds, including conducting employment references, criminal records, and credit checks.

• Once hired, the successful candidate must provide a governmental photo ID and proof of residential address as part of the onboarding process.
