YourPace Admissions Specialist

The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking a full-time YourPace Admissions Specialist to support prospective and current applicants in UMPI’s YourPace competency-based education programs.

This position supports domestic and international applicants, with a primary focus on international admissions. Responsibilities include guiding applicants through admission requirements, reviewing application materials and academic credentials, supporting foreign credential evaluation and English proficiency requirements, and processing application documentation. The position collaborates with university departments to support a seamless experience from application through enrollment.

This position is designated as an essential position requiring the individual to be able to work remotely during periods of inclement weather and/or campus emergencies.

This is a fully remote position. Work hours are generally 8:00 AM–4:30 PM EST, with flexibility during various points in the admissions cycle. Schedule adjustments will be discussed with and approved by the Vice President of Enrollment Services. Occasional travel to UMPI may be required for training and other university events.

The salary for this full-time position is $45,300.32. The University will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion, depending on skills and experience. Required Qualifications

• Associate degree and at least two years of higher education experience in admissions, student advising, enrollment services, or a related area.
• Experience working with adult learners, competency-based education, or international students.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide effective and culturally responsive service to a diverse student population.
• Working knowledge of international admissions processes, foreign educational credentials, and English language proficiency requirements.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Experience working in multiple technology platforms simultaneously. 

Technology Requirements for Remote Work

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Zoom, and related communication technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multiple technology platforms simultaneously.
• Proof of a stable, reliable internet connection with speeds of at least 25 Mbps. Mobile hotspots are not acceptable.
• A dedicated, distraction-free workspace that provides privacy for phone and Zoom conversations, maintains confidentiality in accordance with University policy and FERPA regulations, and accommodates a full workstation, including two monitors, docking stations, and other required equipment.
• Ability to complete an annual Remote Work Agreement Form.  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Two or more years of higher education admissions or recruitment experience.
• Experience with international credential evaluation or global admissions processes.
• Experience working with higher education systems such as Salesforce, MaineStreet, and ImageNow/Perceptive Content.
