AI Summary

The Video Editor will execute high-quality, performance-aware video edits for paid social platforms like Meta and TikTok. They will collaborate with creative strategists to iterate on concepts, manage multiple client workstreams, and maintain high standards for visual storytelling and ad effectiveness.

About the role

We concept, build, and iterate paid social creative for Meta, TikTok, and other emerging platforms. The Video Editor, Paid Social (DTC) is primarily responsible for executing approved creative concepts through high-quality, performance-aware video editing.

This role is focused on editing execution rather than campaign-level creative planning. Editors are encouraged to strengthen the work through executional recommendations such as alternate hooks, pacing, asset sequencing, footage combinations, and edit variations when opportunities are clear. Broader testing plans, messaging strategy, and overall creative direction remain owned by the Creative Strategist and account team.

You will work closely with Creative Strategists, Designers, and Account Managers to turn approved ideas into paid social ad creative, iterate quickly based on feedback and provided performance insights, and contribute to repeatable editing standards that support quality and scale across client work. Direct client interaction is uncommon and typically limited to occasional calls where executional alignment or technical feasibility needs to be discussed.

Each Video Editor typically supports approximately 4 to 5 clients at a time. The number of active campaigns or editing workstreams may vary depending on each client’s needs and production volume.

Responsibilities

  • Iterate on approved concepts by creating cutdowns, alternate versions, and new executions informed by the brief, feedback, and provided testing direction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the creative through editing choices such as pacing, visual hierarchy, pattern interrupts, footage combinations, messaging emphasis, and format selection, while staying aligned to the approved concept.
  • Apply learnings quickly across active projects and use platform-native editing practices to support creative quality and performance.
  • Maintain awareness of TikTok, Meta, and paid social creative trends, including editing styles, storytelling patterns, sound trends, captioning approaches, and platform-specific best practices.
  • Bring new editing styles, workflow ideas, and practical creative approaches to the team proactively.
  • Partner closely with Creative Strategists, Designers, and Account Managers to align on creative direction, deliverables, timelines, and iteration priorities.
  • Incorporate internal and client feedback while maintaining quality, speed, and brand accuracy.

  • Contribute to team standards, workflow adoption, and repeatable editing best practices by following established processes, surfacing recurring inefficiencies, and sharing useful feedback.
  • More experienced editors may also assist with documentation, onboarding, and peer support as the team grows, while Team Leads retain ownership of formal training and process implementation.

Note on Application Responses
We strongly encourage applicants to answer questions in their own words. While tools like ChatGPT can be helpful for organizing or polishing your thoughts, it is very easy to recognize when responses are copied and pasted without personalization. Candidates who use AI in that way are typically less successful in our process. Please treat your responses as an opportunity to show us how you think and communicate.
