As we grow, we're looking for a VP of Technology to own enterprise technology strategy, roadmap, architecture principles, security and compliance priorities in alignment with company growth objectives.   The VP of Technology will provide company-wide leadership for Excela Protect’s technology strategy, information security, data ecosystem, and technology operating model. This role sets technology priorities, governs investments and vendor performance, and partners with executive leadership to deliver secure, scalable, supportable capabilities that enable growth, operational discipline, regulatory readiness, and reliable user experience.   This position is remote-eligible; however, candidates must currently reside in one of the following approved states: AZ, CO, GA, LA, MI, NC, NY, OH, SC, TN, or TX.   Why Excela Protect? Translate business strategy into a sequenced technology portfolio with clear priorities, dependencies, resource plans, governance standards, and build-buy-partner decisions. Provide executive-level reporting on technology portfolio performance, delivery progress, resource utilization, production health, budget status, strategic tradeoffs, and material risks. Establish governance for technology-enabled growth initiatives to ensure solution priorities and technology investments align with enterprise strategy, commercial objectives, risk tolerance, and operational capacity. Partner with counsel and executive leadership on material technology contracts, including master services agreements, statements of work, milestones, acceptance criteria, service levels, warranty terms, change-order discipline, and escalation paths. Own the enterprise integration strategy for dealer management systems, digital retail and desking tools, menu providers, rating engines, payment and disbursement rails, carrier reporting, and other critical ecosystem connections. Establish data governance, quality, reconciliation, retention, and reporting standards so contract, claim, financial, carrier, and audit data can be traced and defended.   What You Bring: Executive-level understanding of information security, privacy, business continuity, regulatory readiness, third-party diligence, and responsible AI or automation governance in environments involving consumer, financial, or regulated data. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent training and demonstrated experience will be considered in place of the degree. Twelve or more years of progressive technology leadership, including significant experience leading a technology function, major technology portfolio, or enterprise technology team. Five or more years in the automotive aftermarket, F&I protection products, warranty administration, or an adjacent regulated financial services or insurance technology environment. Ability to set and communicate a clear technology vision, translate business priorities into a scalable technology roadmap, and advise executive leadership on opportunities, tradeoffs, investment priorities, growth implications, and risk.   Ready to make an impact?
