Position Summary
The Vice President of Health, Wellness & Strategy is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for advancing organizational goals related to resident health, wellness, dining, and overall quality of life. This role provides executive oversight of clinical programs, compliance, dining services, and health data analytics to ensure consistent standards, measurable outcomes, and an exceptional resident experience. This position leads Health and Wellness and collaborates closely with Operations, Clinical, and Resident Experience teams to align strategies that strengthen performance, compliance, and resident well-being across all communities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the company’s Health and Wellness strategy in alignment with Watermark KPI’s and resident outcomes. Integrate clinical, wellness, and dining initiatives into a cohesive framework that ensures consistency, accountability, and excellence across communities. Drive innovation in health delivery, dining experience, and wellness programming, informed by data and performance metrics. Provide leadership for health data analytics to evaluate trends, measure outcomes, and inform operational decisions Clinical Oversight & Compliance
Provide executive direction to Regional Directors of Health & Wellness, ensuring consistent application of policies, standards, and best practices. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations across communities. Oversee quality assurance, survey readiness, and clinical risk management processes. Partner with Operations and Legal to address compliance issues, corrective action plans, and performance improvement initiatives
Resident Health Experience
Lead efforts to deliver a consistent and proactive resident health experience across physical, cognitive, and nutritional domains. Oversee the integration of health data analytics to monitor clinical trends, outcomes, and early intervention opportunities. Partner with Operations and Resident Experience teams to design and evaluate initiatives that enhance resident well-being and satisfaction. Serve as the executive sponsor for the organization’s 360° Health Review process, ensuring alignment between data insights and operational action plans. Dining Services Leadership
Provide executive oversight of all Dining and Nutrition operations across the organization. Partner with culinary and operational leaders to ensure dining programs align with nutritional standards, resident satisfaction, and brand expectations. Establish performance benchmarks for service quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. Oversee vendor and partnership relationships to support quality, consistency, and cost-effectiveness. Data & Analytics
Lead the development and implementation of health and wellness data strategies to strengthen decision-making and operational visibility. Ensure consistent use of data to evaluate outcomes, identify risks, and drive accountability across all health and wellness functions. Collaborate with Operations and IT to optimize reporting systems, dashboards, and analytics tools.
Financial Stewardship
Develop and manage annual budgets for Health, Wellness, and Dining Services. Ensure responsible use of resources through efficient staffing, procurement, and program design. Evaluate ROI on wellness and dining initiatives through data-driven performance outcomes.
Talent Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop Regional Directors of Health & Wellness, Dining leadership, and data analytics team members. Collaborate with HR and Learning & Development to enhance leadership capability, succession planning, and professional development. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence aligned with organizational mission and values.
