AI Summary

The VP of Commercialization will build the commercial function from the ground up, defining the go-to-market strategy and pricing for an AI robotics manufacturing platform. They are responsible for personally originating and closing the company's first commercial agreements with apparel brands.

About CreateMe

CreateMe is an AI robotics company pioneering automated manufacturing for soft materials, starting with apparel. Built on the belief that the Future of Fashion is Bonded™, the company has developed a unified platform that combines advanced robotics, proprietary adhesive bonding, and Physical AI to deliver a new standard of precision, consistency, and speed.

By replacing stitch-based construction with digitally applied adhesives and automated material handling, the platform enables localized, on-demand production that reduces waste, shortens supply chains, and improves recyclability by design. Core technologies include Pixel™ micro adhesive bonding, the MeRA™ robotic assembly system, and Thermo(re)set™ reversible adhesive science, advancements that make scalable, automated production possible within compact, localized facilities.

CreateMe partners with brands and manufacturers seeking to modernize how products are made. With more than 95 patents across robotics, adhesives, and Physical AI, the company is defining the infrastructure for bonded manufacturing globally.

The Role

CreateMe is hiring a senior commercial leader to partner with the CEO in defining and executing our go-to-market strategy, translating early commercial hypotheses into repeatable revenue, and owning outbound sales, deal structuring, and initial revenue generation.

As VP of Commercialization, you will build and run the commercial function from the ground up. You will lead early customer engagements end-to-end, from first conversation through signed agreements, ensuring every deal is technically grounded, operationally executable, and aligned with how the platform scales.

You will lead all apparel sales to brands produced on CreateMe’s automated manufacturing platform, driving new product introduction while establishing a new model for how apparel is designed, produced, and delivered.

This role requires both strategy and execution at a high level. You will define sales motion, pricing architecture, deal structures, and customer segmentation, while personally originating and closing the company’s earliest and most important deals. With demonstrated impact and achievement in your role as well as strong partnership across the business, this role is intended to progress towards a seat on the Executive Leadership Team, with exposure to Board-level activities.

This is a first-of-its-kind commercialization role within a company building a fundamentally new manufacturing platform and model for the industry; CreateMe is at an inflection point, transitioning from years of R&D, product validation, and IP development into early commercial deployment with active customer demand. The technology has been proven through product testing and early customer validation, and is now ready for commercial application.

Product, pricing, and delivery are being defined in parallel. The work you do will define how that platform and model are brought to market and scaled into a repeatable, category-defining business.

Location: Open to all candidates in North America. San Francisco Bay Area and/or New York metro candidates are preferred.

Commercial focus: North America; Secondary: select other global locations. Travel will be required 30%-50%, depending on your home office location.

Reports to: CEO

Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Market Entry

  • Own and shape CreateMe’s commercial and go-to-market strategy, translating company vision into a repeatable, scalable apparel sales model; define the enterprise sales approach and pressure-test assumptions against technical, operational, and economic realities.

  • Define target customers, use cases, and initial market entry strategy in apparel; refine continuously based on live deal feedback, adoption friction, and delivery constraints, with direct accountability for what converts to revenue.

  • Develop pricing, commercial terms, and deal structures grounded in unit economics, capacity, and roadmap timing; partner with Finance and Operations to ensure margin integrity and executable growth.

Sales Execution & Deal Ownership

  • Personally originate, lead, and close CreateMe’s first commercial agreements, including paid pilots, production/off-take agreements, and strategic partnerships.

  • Own the full commercial lifecycle: prospecting, qualification, solution design, proposal development, negotiation, contracting, and handoff to execution.

  • Translate customer requirements into clearly scoped, contractable offerings that engineering and operations can reliably deliver.

  • Build a repeatable sales motion from zero, defining how demand is generated, deals are structured, and revenue is scaled.

Customer & Partner Leadership

  • Serve as the senior commercial lead to brands and strategic ecosystem partners.

  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder engagements across product, materials, sourcing, and supply chain functions.

  • Own early customer relationships through pilot, delivery, and expansion; ensure successful conversion into repeat or scaled programs.

Internal Alignment & Commercial Infrastructure

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Materials Science, and Apparel Product Development to align commercial commitments with technical and operational readiness.

  • Build the company’s initial commercial infrastructure, including pipeline definition, CRM ownership, deal approval frameworks, contract standards, and core sales materials.

  • Own commercial reporting and insight generation; maintain rigorous pipeline, activity, and conversion tracking, and communicate performance clearly to leadership and the board.

  • Establish and maintain a continuous market feedback loop; translate customer, deal, and industry signals into actionable recommendations on product-market fit, roadmap prioritization, and capital allocation.

Relevant Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • 10+ years in B2B commercialization and end-to-end business development, with direct ownership of revenue in complex, deal-driven environments; track record building and scaling sales from zero to first meaningful revenue.

  • Experience selling into apparel brands; established network of senior relationships, with a history of converting those relationships into signed commercial agreements.

  • Demonstrated ability to originate and close complex, early-stage commercial deals, particularly where the product, pricing, and delivery model were still being defined.

  • Deep familiarity with apparel or other soft-goods product development and manufacturing; experience introducing products enabled by new technical or operational capabilities.

  • Ability to translate industrial automation, materials, and manufacturing constraints into clearly scoped, contractable commercial offerings in partnership with engineering and operations.

  • Experience operating in early-stage or scaling environments, including transition from R&D to commercial production; comfortable in long sales cycles, ambiguous problem spaces, and build-from-scratch contexts.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to structure deals that are both commercially attractive and operationally executable.

  • Experience operating in environments where commercial outcomes directly shape product, roadmap, and company trajectory.

  • Strong commercial judgment and negotiation capability; high ownership and accountability, with a bias toward execution.

  • Strong communicator with executive presence; able to navigate and influence senior stakeholders across brands, product, and supply chain functions to drive commercial outcomes.
