Responsibilities for this role may include work on crash reporting tools and workflows, diagnostic and support tooling, automated test infrastructure and reporting, Unreal Editor utilities, command-line tools, content or build validation, and other systems that improve the day-to-day effectiveness of developers, QA, production, and support teams.
This role is fully remote with the option for hybrid or in-office work at our office in Eugene, OR and relocation assistance, if preferred.
Day To Day
Responsibilities
• Partner with engineering, QA, production, support, and client stakeholders to identify workflow and tooling needs, then turn them into reliable production solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain systems for crash capture and reporting, diagnostic data collection, logging, telemetry, reproduction, and issue triage.
• Build automated testing tools, test orchestration, result analysis, reporting, and continuous integration workflows.
• Create Unreal Editor tools, plugins, commandlets, scripts, utilities, and validation systems.
• Integrate project tools with source control, build systems, issue tracking, external services, and platform-specific workflows.
• Investigate difficult failures and improve the systems that make future root causes easier to find.
• Write maintainable code, automated tests, documentation, and support materials so tools remain usable across the team.
• Provide accurate time estimates and communicate tradeoffs and risks clearly as project priorities evolve.
• Use approved AI-assisted coding tools within the requirements of the client and project.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Professional experience with UE 5, with the ability to work within a mature Unreal project and existing development workflows.
• Strong C++ experience, especially with Unreal modules, plugins, editor extensions, commandlets, or engine-level systems.

Nice-To-Have Skills
• Experience with crash reporters, minidumps, symbols, call stacks, log aggregation, telemetry, or production support diagnostics.
• Experience with Unreal automation technologies such as the Automation Test Framework, Gauntlet, BuildGraph, or comparable systems.

• Experience with Python, C#, web technologies, Blazor, or service development used to support game-development pipelines.
• Experience with proprietary engines or other commercial game-development environments.
• Experience supporting live games, customer support workflows, or post-launch diagnostics.
Education and Experience
• 5+ years of relevant professional engineering experience.
