The Treasury Manager Position
SunStrong Management is seeking a Treasury Manager to support the company’s ongoing treasury, financing, and cash management activities.A treasury manager oversees an organization's daily cash operations, liquidity, and financial risks. They manage bank relationships, optimize capital structure, create cash forecasts, and ensure regulatory compliance. SunStrong utilizes a variety of financing structures to efficiently monetize the solar project-level cash flows and federal tax benefits through third-party investors. The focus of the Treasury Manager will be on financing SunStrong Management’s pools of solar assets in a variety of warehouse and other banking arrangements. Day-to-day activities will include interfacing with banking partners, allocating our assets into multiple open banking facility, managing constraints and investment objectives, maintaining detailed borrowing base models, and forecasting future capital needs.
The Treasury Manager will work with a team of analysts to accomplish these goals. The Treasury Manager will also coordinate with other members of the Finance Team and communicate internally with Executive Leadership and other key stakeholders. This will include close interaction with colleagues working on long-term financing transactions related to project assets.
The ideal candidate has a background in finance, accounting, or data analytics; is detail-oriented; has excellent analytical thinking and communication skills; can handle multiple objectives and constraints; and has an aptitude for complex financial modeling.
Treasury Manager Responsibilities
Cash Management: Monitor daily cash positions, manage cash concentration, and handle wire transfers or liquidity needs.
Liquidity Forecasting: Build and maintain short- and long-term cash flow models to support business planning.
Banking Relations: Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, negotiate fees and service agreements, and open or modify bank accounts.
Debt and Capital Management: Oversee debt facilities, monitor covenant compliance, and support capital structure optimization.
Process Automation: Implement and manage treasury management systems (TMS) and integrate software with ERP platforms.
Compliance & Controls: Enforce internal controls, support audits, and adhere to financial regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or master's degree is a plus.
Certification: Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is highly preferred.
Experience: 5 to 7+ years of progressive corporate treasury, banking, or financial management experience.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and treasury management software.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, clear communication, leadership, and meticulous attention to detail.
