Position: TMP DESIGNER

Salary range: Php 95,000/month (The final amount will be at the the client discretion basing on the candidate’s skills and experience.)

Working Hours: Following NZ business hours

About the Company & Role

Our client is a New Zealand-based traffic and safety management provider supporting roadworks, civil construction, infrastructure and other projects where safe traffic movement is essential. The company focuses on developing practical and compliant Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) solutions that support the safety of workers, road users and the public. As a TMP Designer, you will be responsible for preparing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Corridor Access Requests (CARs), traffic management diagrams and related planning documentation. You will work closely with Operations teams, STMSs, clients and Road Controlling Authorities to develop solutions that meet NZGTTM requirements and can be effectively implemented on site. The role requires strong technical planning skills, attention to detail and a practical understanding of traffic management environments, while ensuring documentation is accurate, compliant and delivered within required timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

Traffic Management Planning & Design

  • Prepare, submit and amend Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) in line with NZGTTM, RCA requirements and client/project expectations.
  • Develop accurate traffic management diagrams and supporting planning documentation.
  • Design practical traffic management solutions that consider site conditions, construction methodology, traffic flow and pedestrian movements.
  • Ensure traffic management solutions appropriately address the safety of workers, road users and the public.
  • Review and update TMPs when project requirements, methodology or site conditions change.
  • Maintain accurate records of TMPs, revisions, submissions and approvals.
  • Ensure planning documentation is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Operational & Project Support

  • Work closely with Operations teams, Branch Managers and STMSs to understand project requirements.
  • Provide planning and technical support during project preparation and delivery.
  • Incorporate relevant site, construction and operational information into TMP designs.
  • Respond to planning queries and provide timely support to operational teams.
  • Identify and escalate complex planning matters when additional technical input is required.
  • Support the effective implementation of approved TMPs.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and traffic management expectations.
  • Prepare and coordinate Corridor Access Requests (CARs), permits and associated documentation.
  • Work with Road Controlling Authorities, councils and other relevant approval agencies.
  • Monitor planning submissions, approvals and revisions.
  • Communicate planning progress and respond to enquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure TMPs and related documentation comply with current NZGTTM and relevant RCA requirements.
  • Keep up to date with changes to traffic management requirements, standards and industry practices.
  • Review feedback from operational teams, audits and project outcomes to improve planning quality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, templates and documentation.
  • Contribute knowledge and ideas to a collaborative planning team.
  • Participate in relevant training and professional development activities.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Apply a strong safety-focused approach to all traffic management planning activities.
  • Ensure TMP designs consider site-specific risks and appropriate control measures.
  • Consider the safety of workers, pedestrians, cyclists, road users and the wider public.
  • Follow company Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
  • Report hazards, incidents and improvement opportunities promptly.
  • Promote safe, practical and effective traffic management solutions.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Traffic Management Planning, TMP Design or a related TTM role.
  • Working knowledge of the New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (NZGTTM).
  • Experience preparing Traffic Management Plans and associated documentation.
  • Experience creating traffic management diagrams and practical TTM solutions.
  • Experience using RapidPlan or similar traffic management planning software.
  • Understanding of Road Controlling Authority requirements and approval processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Operations teams, STMSs, clients and external stakeholders.
  • Practical understanding of how TMPs are implemented in roadwork, construction or traffic management environments.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Current TTM Planner qualification or currently working towards one.
  • Current STMS qualification.
  • Previous operational traffic management experience.
  • Experience working with multiple Road Controlling Authorities.
  • Experience supporting civil construction, infrastructure, roadworks or similar projects.
  • Experience with CARs, permits and traffic management approval processes.
  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
