The engineer will contribute to the development, validation, and licensing of next-generation multi-physics methods for nuclear thermal-hydraulics. They will also prepare and verify engineering reports, safety analyses, and design documents while providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
NOTE: THIS POSITION IS AVAILABLE FOR REMOTE WORK FOR INDIVIDUALS LIVING BEYOND A 30 MILE RADIUS OF A PHYSICAL NUSCALE OFFICE BUT WITHIN THE CONTIGUOUS UNITED STATES.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Thermal‑Hydraulics Engineer 3 is an experienced technical contributor within the Nuclear Methods group of the Nuclear Fuels organization. Reporting to the Manager, Nuclear Methods, the engineer works in close coordination with the Thermal Hydraulics, Nuclear Design, and Code Development groups, as well as partners across other Engineering disciplines, Licensing, and Operations. This position is an engineer with experience in nuclear thermal-hydraulic analyses, codes, and methods, as well as familiar with interfaces with core design, neutronics, and design basis event analysis. This role will apply industry best-practices and knowledge of state-of-the-art methods to support development, validation, and licensing of new methods in areas including thermal-hydraulics, coupled codes, and reload safety analysis. The role requires familiarity with PWR thermal‑hydraulic principles, design‑basis safety analysis, and interfaces with core design, fuel design, neutronics, and transient analysis.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $108,908 - $131,441 annually. The full pay range is $97,642 - $152,722 annually.
