This is a fully remote position.

ROLE

Symetri is seeking a Technology Consultant – VDC Specialist to support contractors, trade contractors, and specialty contractors across the United States. This role combines Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) modeling, BIM coordination, and consulting services, helping clients improve project delivery through constructible modeling, clash detection, Autodesk technology adoption, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate has experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM/VDC workflows, along with a strong understanding of construction processes and project coordination. This individual will serve as an extension of client project teams, providing both technical expertise and practical construction insight.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 

VDC Modeling & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain constructible BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
  • Support MEP and specialty trade modeling for coordination, fabrication, prefabrication, shop drawings, and installation planning.
  • Perform model federation, clash detection, and coordination using Navisworks Manage.
  • Participate in and facilitate BIM/VDC coordination meetings.
  • Track, document, and resolve coordination issues with project stakeholders.
  • Maintain model quality, accuracy, and adherence to project standards.

Autodesk Technology & Consulting

  • Support clients using Autodesk Construction Cloud, Docs, Build, Model Coordination, and Design Collaboration.
  • Assist with project setup, templates, standards, workflows, and permissions.
  • Troubleshoot modeling and coordination challenges.
  • Recommend scalable BIM/VDC processes and best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams.

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide user coaching and workflow training.
  • Support technology adoption and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop standards, templates, and documentation.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across client engagements
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in VDC, BIM coordination, construction modeling, or related AECO disciplines.
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience using Navisworks Manage for model coordination and clash detection.
  • Understanding of construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and project workflows.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP information.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients and project stakeholders.
    • MEP or specialty trade modeling experience.
    • Fabrication-level modeling, shop drawings, or prefabrication workflows.
    • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Build, Docs, and Model Coordination experience.
    • Revit family development and BIM standards creation.
    • Laser scanning, point cloud, or field layout experience.
    • Construction technology implementation or consulting experience
