The Technical Trainer will develop and deliver training programs for warehouse execution software and automated conveyor systems to maintenance and operations teams. This role involves creating manuals, coordinating vendor training, and managing customer relationships to ensure effective system adoption.

About the Role

As a Customer Service Technical Trainer, you’ll help customers confidently use Datum, our warehouse execution system (WES), and the control systems that support their automated conveyor operations. Your primary focus will be developing and delivering two training types, DCS System and DCS Software (Datum). This will include clear, practical training on Datum functionality, software workflows, and system operation for Maintenance and Operations teams. As part of our Customer Service team, you’ll create training plans and user guides, identify learning gaps, and help customers understand system functionality and workflows while building lasting relationships and delivering on our promises.

In this role, you will…

  • Train Operations teams on their overall system components and functions.
  • Build manuals and presentations to support System Training.
  • Develop and deliver customer training on Datum, our warehouse execution system (WES), with a focus on software functionality, system navigation, operating workflows, and troubleshooting. Explain how Datum works with automated conveyor and PLC control systems and use technical documentation and operating instructions to build clear training plans and user guides.
  • Coordinate vendor-led software and systems training during projects and collect and organize documentation to support customer learning.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with Maintenance and Operations teams to align software and systems training with customer needs and contract obligations.
  • Maintain records of completed customer training and use participant feedback to identify knowledge gaps and improve software and systems training.
  • Sell and schedule additional software and systems training as needed, determine service charges, and coordinate billing.
  • Travel up to 50% (30% Typical) to customer and vendor locations to deliver and receive software and systems training.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have at least two years of experience working with fully automated conveyor and PLC control systems, including the software interfaces used to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot them.
  • You have a working knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems and understand how software and controls interact with conveyor equipment.
  • You can plan and manage software and systems training schedules with clear learning objectives and practical, task-based instruction.
  • You can explain technical software and systems concepts clearly, demonstrate workflows, and help Maintenance and Operations teams apply what they learn.
  • You bring strong customer service skills, listen effectively, and collaborate with customers, vendors, and teammates to understand training needs and support learning.
  • You can manage competing priorities and adapt training plans to changing schedules, customer needs, and system requirements.
