What to expect:

The Technical Education Specialist for CWBWF is responsible for support of the activities of the CWB Welding Foundation, as an operational lead for all current Foundation program offerings, working collaboratively with the internal and external stakeholder community to ensure that programs are of high quality, relevant and impactful. This position will support the Program Manager in the development and implementation of new and innovative program offerings and supports management in the program and impact reporting of the program portfolio, has oversight and accountability for scheduling, logistics, inventory and supply management and risk management.  This position is a key liaison with the Foundation’s network of external partners, in particular the educational community of technology and welding/skilled trades teachers and their administration in secondary and post-secondary schools across Canada, students interested in and pursuing welding and related skills development and training, members of the CWB Association and its clients, and internal partners within CWB Education, the CWB Association, CWB Certification, and other areas of the CWB Group with a vested interest in quality welding education and the development of Canada’s welding industry.

This includes:

• Provides technical expert consultation and liaison with other CWB and industry expertise in the provision of facilities and program planning, equipment and supplies, health and safety, and curriculum development
• Onsite and remote program planning, delivery, and supervision – of student orientation and awareness building programs and events, camps, educator training, and others as determined in cooperation with business and stakeholder partners
• Relationship development, management, and stewardship with external and internal partners to ensure program success
• Program development and delivery –supports the development and delivery of educational programs and project-based learning related to the various careers both traditional and emerging that are related to welding, including skilled trades, STEM based subject areas, engineering, and robotics 
• Supports annual and long-term welding education program development, management, and plans
• Other Duties as assigned

In this position, you will report to the Program Manager and will work out of their home office, travel will be required from time to time. CWB has  adopted a remote-first working model, where employees will work from their home office, servicing the client within their specified areas either remotely or in person. We are embracing radical flexibility, where employees are encouraged to work a schedule that works best for them, their team, and their clients.

What you bring to the table:

• Minimum Community College/Polytechnic Diploma or Degree, with a preference for post-secondary studies in education, business, and/or welding related trades and technology 
• Recognized Welder/Fitter and/or Welding Technologist diploma 
• Welding education, teaching experience in the secondary and or post-secondary education sector.  
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Project Management experience
• Work experience in industry in a welding or welding related position(s)
• Teaching experience 
• Program and/or project management experience 
• Possess practical welding skills and knowledge in order to communicate to students, educators and industry
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Attention to detail and high accuracy of work
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently, work within scheduled timeframes and set priorities to ensure deadlines are met
• Ability to work independently, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and contribute to overall team goals and objectives

• This is a remote, work from home position
• This position requires 25% of travel. Ability and commitment to travel across Canada is a significant requirement of this role. Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

The following qualifications are considered assets:

• CWB Qualified Welder and/or CWB Certified Visual Inspector is a highly desirable
• Bilingualism in English and French
